Trackday @ Shannonville... August 9th

hey guys and girls, After getting rained out at our last track day, I thought I would give it another try... Track day Monday August 9th, 2004 Shannonville "pro track" Now that Cayuga is closed…. We don’t have much left… I have rented Shannonville Motorsport Park Monday August 9th from 9:00am to 5:00pm. (Cayuga would only let us operate from 10-5) I have the whole track rented, so we can run any of the 4 tracks. After talking too many experienced people I have decide to run on the “pro track”… Price for the whole day: $120 This includes: • Entire day on Pro Track • Track time 9:00am – 5:00pm (lots of track time) • Ambulance (encase of an emergency) • Professional Marshals ( for your safety) 3 groups… Maximum 20 riders per session 1. Street 2. Intermediate 3. Hot Payment accepted: Cash, Check or PayPal… email or phone for address. Snack bar should be open from 11:30ish - 1:30ish for lunch. Timeline for the day: • Shannonville gates will be opened at 7:30 am • 7:30am to 8:30am - Sign in, Helmet & bike tech inspection, sign a waiver, receive wrist band • 8:35am MANDATORY riders meeting; address any questions and concerns • 9:00am to 9:10 - Advanced riders will take “new-to-track” riders for 2 sighting laps • 9:10am – Street group will start - 15 minute sessions • 12:30-1:00 – Lunch - Food will not be provided so please bring your own and lots of water. • 1:00pm – continue with the next group Bikes should be prepped for the track, and rider should have full leathers. It is the responsibility of each participant to be fully aware of the rules and guidelines that follow. 2. All entrants must attend the riders' meeting, no exceptions. 3. All bikes MUST pass technical inspection prior to admission to the track. If your bike DOES NOT pass tech inspection, you will NOT receive a refund. 4. Tires and brakes must be in good condition. 5. All glass, headlights, turn signals, and plastic lenses must be taped over or removed. It is recommended that head and tail light fuses be removed. 6. Side mirrors must be removed. Taping over of mirrors is not permitted 7. We recommend, but do not require removal of center or side stands. Bikes with side stands should have strong springs to insure that the kickstand cannot come down accidentally. 8. All machines must have a self-closing throttle in good working condition. 9. All motorcycles must have Antifreeze drained. (Water Wetter & Distilled water is recommended). This is non-negotiable and includes the liquid contained in the reservoir. 10. All Riders must wear appropriate riding gear. Full one piece or two-piece (zip completely around) motorcycle leather suits only. NO Nylon or Kevlar suits allowed. 11. All riders must wear full-face helmets that are designed for motorcycle use. They must be DOT or Snell approved, of recent design, in good condition and be a proper fit for the rider. 12. All riders must wear Leather based gauntlet style gloves that are in good condition. 13. All riders must wear boots that extend above the ankle. 14. Back protectors are not required but are highly recommended. 15. The consumption on alcohol during the hours of track day operation is strictly prohibited. This rule applies to both riding participants & their crew, family and friends. Anyone found to be consuming alcohol will be asked to leave the grounds. 16. The use of drugs is will not be tolerated. Anyone found using drugs during our track day will be reported to the Police. 17. Rain policy… be prepared to get wet… bring rain suit, umbrella…

Sounds like great fun!! Can you explain the groups for me? 1. Street 2. Intermediate 3. Hot I'm not sure the difference. 1 more thing... Did you get into Phase II for the 18th?

Shhhh, I'm trying to sneak away for the day. I imagine I'll have to leave by 2 or 3 to pick her up after work at around 5. Its still a good morning of riding.:riding I haven't run this one past her yet I just asked casually if she was planning to take the day off work or if she just wanted to go out after work. Ya she's going to work so I can take the day off and play fo rthe morning :thumbup

Do they allow chrome rims on the track? Or does the extra weight add to the car grooves? hehehe sorry for the chrome. BTW looks like I may have about 4 new riders to join us.

Yeah I have the information and yes I did recruit them at F.A.S.T. They are a couple of guys that hang out at the coffee shop on Lawrence. Pretty good riders. Phase II was awsome. I really want a track bike now.

I have talked to Shannonvile, and they will let us slepp inside the gates if we get there b4 6:00pm on sunday... I hate doing the long drive in the am... and we start on the track at 9:00am.... I wil be camping out, if anyone wnats to come and join... bbq, tents, pocketbike racing in parking lot.... hahahaha they are locking the gates at 6:00pm Sunday.... so be there b4 6

you camping with us??? No idea, I still haven't figured out how I'm getting there with my bike. I think the Orillia boys are planning to hotel.

hey any of you guys got a number for a cheap motel near the track? maybe we could drop off the trailer for modsquad to watch and then hit up the peelers? actually, last time you were in charge of a 4 wheeler you kinda screwed it up.

i think daner and i are staying in beleville which daner says it is like 15 minutes away i will post as soon as he tells me

maybe we could drop off the trailer for modsquad to watch and then hit up the peelers? Going to the BOO for your free bowl of chili? The best western is ideal, close to the highway and to dennys for breakfast!! If you want cheap and close to the track I'd suggest the salmon river (samonila) inn.

nice pics. thanks again stoddy and modsquad for the reserve parts after the highside, it really helped us out. had a great time, and those supercorsas we bought made a world of a difference on the r6, or so mike says, i don't know i couldn't catch him after the tire swap. :eek:

That was a great track day! Well organized, lots of track time. My friend Darren that highsided on the back straight (white Gsxr) ended up going to the hospital to get his foot x-rayed, he broke it good. He is OK but a little depressed after his wife took the bike keys away. :2bitchsla Any way I had a great time. When is the next one.:D Cheers Chris.

I have to do it by the end of this year... Tanya will be dragging her knee b4 me.... :(

Tanya will be dragging her knee b4 me.... :( everybody had a great time. it was a good day and well organized, guess that's why you weren't getting any track time. thanks again for helping out with that rearset, it says a lot. far as dragging knee, i didn't do it a whole hell of a lot. i actually would just touch, then pull up and lean more so i could go faster. but if you want let's make a plan to go out for some fun next track day. you helped us out, so let us help you out. i still say you will be draggin it within one session. :sneaky
