Thanks,
Ray NOTORIOUSKIM 06-17-2004, 09:13 AM lol... they crammed too much stuff on the flier too - jackazzes. R1_BLUBLURR 06-18-2004, 11:28 AM "Areas hottest R&B Band"... Suttle Thoughts and EU? Damn... must be working with a weak budget. Rather have a DJ, but it's not like the music will matter. It's all about the bikes and the crowd anyway... I'll probably check it out... NOTORIOUSKIM 06-19-2004, 11:24 AM hi BluBlurr.... i hear u... folks will pay $20-30 to see those bands on a regular club night though...
i'd rather hear a DJ as well - they'll most likely have one... Dwhoelse 06-19-2004, 11:38 AM Might have to check it out... R1_BLUBLURR 06-20-2004, 08:07 AM hi BluBlurr.... i hear u... folks will pay $20-30 to see those bands on a regular club night though...
Hey Kim
Yeah...I would think they would have a couple DJ's... at least in the beginning. Are you going? Trying to get a few buddies to join in. Not sure if we'll ride our bikes though.. I'm sure MD's finest will be swarming around 95 to reach early quotas for the month. NOTORIOUSKIM 06-21-2004, 05:15 AM Originally posted by R1_BLUBLURR

I may swing through with my girls - we'll probably just post up outside - damned if I'm paying all that money for some B.S. :D R1_BLUBLURR 06-21-2004, 05:47 AM I may swing through with my girls - we'll probably just post up outside - damned if I'm paying all that money for some B.S.
Ha! I hear ya! The more I think about it... I doubt if I'll throw $30 in the wind, too. Bikes, a crowd and music.... I can see that on any weekend at the park. NOTORIOUSKIM 06-21-2004, 06:47 AM Originally posted by R1_BLUBLURR

LMAO!!! That's funny! Yeah... Anacostia Park has some characters out there. A little too crazy for me. We'll hang out for a minute, but that's about it.. Does anyone go out to Haines Point anymore? Last time I was out there we met up with a few people, but it's definintely not like it used to be. Jheberle 06-21-2004, 07:28 AM It is going to be the 'biggest show in DC history'. WKYSS FM should get some nice chromed out bikes up there i'd bet... NOTORIOUSKIM 06-21-2004, 08:29 AM yeah haines point used to be the shyt.... actually, now that it's not a big hang out spot, i like chillin' there for a few.
@ jheberle - yep - i'm sure there will be a lot of chrome to admire. icuhaten 06-23-2004, 05:20 PM if i can get some new yorkers together i'll check it out ViperRy 06-26-2004, 11:21 PM I thought D.C. Bike fest was held at MIR every year? Did they change it or is this a different event... ransomkj 06-27-2004, 12:01 AM Originally posted by NOTORIOUSKIM

I'm there. Is it free to eat or does that cost extra? are_one 06-29-2004, 06:59 AM It used to be held at the laurel race track. I didn't much care for last years, so I don't think I will be attending. R1_BLUBLURR 07-12-2004, 10:47 AM Did anyone attend this? Just curious to know if it was any good. Haines Point used to be my spot when I lived in Northern Virginia.
And Anocostia Park, right off 295, right before the Fireman traninig Center on the left hand side of 295? Never heard of it! lol
Voodoo VoodooDsims 07-12-2004, 11:09 AM and I will not EVEN mention the Bus Stop by the convention Center. That is when EU was big with the DC go-go! I could tell you stories for days.
Damm, I just got a hard-on!

Dead? Suga Bear? I thought he was still alive? But I guess I've been away from the Go-Go scene for a while so maybe he is.

Aw shyte! Don't take me back to the Junk Yard Band days! The used to crank back in the day! :rock I think they kind of fell off after the rumors of "Bugs"(lead singer) being gay. At least that's what I heard..
Oh.. and since we're doing old Go-Go lyric quotes how about this one for the old heads... "the policeman is on the premises, what is he doing in here... Run Joe, Run Joe! Chuck Brown (God Father of Go-Go):epimp VoodooDsims 07-12-2004, 02:43 PM Originally posted by R1_BLUBLURR

It was quite a few bikes downat DC 1st Fest. But it were too many bike events that weekend to spend $30. B-More Black Tigers had an event at the same time and MIR event was that Sunday as well. As well as Down and Dirty had an event that day. If you went to all events you laid out about $75-90.:dollar :crash
As for Haines point, those days are long gone, really miss them. It changed when they started locking folks out of the park after 1pm.:bs Anacostia is ok, but a different vibe. B&N is ok, but also a different vibe.
MD needs a few spot to replace Anacostia. NOTORIOUSKIM 07-22-2004, 12:06 PM i heard the bike fest sucked.... oh well.
i can catch the go go anytime... lol. VoodooDsims 07-22-2004, 12:22 PM Originally posted by NOTORIOUSKIM

Come on Kim, lets go go!
