The 2004 DEAL GAP R1-Forum.com EVENT was a HUGE success.! June 9-13th 2004 went down as a legendary event and should prove to be an annual gathering for many years to come!

Rough count on group attendance from our site was about 160 members and there was a nice bunch of over 200 (reportedly) FZ-1's buzzing around all over the gap.. The majority of the crew stayed at www.fontanavillage.com and a the rest down at the Motel/Campground/Gas station!

A large amount of members headed down on June the 9th and the rest filled into place throughout the rest of the weekend. Plenty of good times and friendships made. We'll move this temp section about the convention in general into a specific covention section after it's taken it's course in a few weeks. I just wanted to give out a special thanks to BKR1 for a tremendous help with the food. Also GPD270 for supplying the plates, and plasticware, Skeeter for taking photos, And epecially SpidermanSS for hooking us up with Chuck Graves, and thanks to Chuck for joining us and giving the talk and riding with us:thumbup. These guys help make the convention go as well as it did.

I got in late wednesday night. Then we all got up and did some early Gap runs on Thursday. Then we all gathered for some hamburgers and hotdogs on Thursday night. It was really cool to put faces with all the names I had been talking to for 6 months. Friday me, BKR1, and T-Pole hit the Tellico ORV trail. Great Time there too. ONly rode about half of it. That night got to meet Chuck, really cool guy. Then saturday rode up to the Gap with Chuck and the rest of the McCoy's and several others. Pretty neat to see those custom R1's riding the Gap. Then we got stuck in a little bit of rain. Everyone headed back to the cabins to dry off. And rode some more that afternoon. Sat night we gave out all the prizes and Chuck took any questions that any asked. It was pretty cool. We tryed to stop him, but he just wanted to keep talking. So Shane was about to down some more beers and become better aquainted with his new buddy porkchop118.:lol. Then we gave out the prizes.

It was a great time had by all. If you missed it you missed a great time. But don't worry, it will be bigger and better next year:yesnod
