Normally I'd be in, but I will be in Ga this weekend...
Sorry to hijak your thread, but some humor is in order up inhere,
"The devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal
He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind and he was willin' to make a deal.
When he came across this young man carvin on an R-1 and Ridin it hot
And the devil jumped up on a hickory stump and said, "Boy let me tell ya what.
"I guess you didn't know it, but I'm a Moto rider, too
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you ride a pretty good litre boy, but give the devil his due,
I'll bet an R-1 of gold against your soul 'cause I think I'm better than you."
The boy said, "My names Johnny, and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet - your gonna regret 'cause i'm the best that's ever been!"
Johnny screw down your damper an' ride your rocket hard
'Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia an' the devil deals the cards.
And if you win you'll get this shiny R-1 made of gold, but if you
lose the devil gets your soul!
The devil Fired up his "1" , and he said "I'll start this show,"
And fire flew from his Graves exhaust as heated up his tires till they made an evil glow.
And he pulled his one up to the line I heard it make an evil hiss,
Then a crew of demons joined in and it sounded something like this:
( Funk guitar )
When the devil finished his run Johnny said, "Well, you're pretty quick ol' son,
"But set right in that chair right there and let me show you how it's done!"
(chorus)
Fire On The Mountain, Run Boys Run! Devil's in the House of the Rising Sun,
The lil chile's tearin the streets up on one, Fo Sho! Granny will Your Nos Kick?, Go Child, Go!
The devil bowed his head, 'cause he knew that he'd been beat,
And he parked that golden R-1 on the ground at Johnny's feet.
Johnny said, "Devil just come on back if you ever want to try again,
"I done told you once you son of a bitch I'm the best there's ever been!
And he Rode...
Fire On The Mountain, Run Boys Run! Devil's in the House of the Rising Sun,
The chile's tearin the streets up on one, Fo Sho! Granny will Your Nos Kick?, Go Child, Go!
motopsyko32 07-01-2004, 07:18 AM im in to help if needed
DWAYNE 07-01-2004, 07:22 AM I have some parties to go to on sat. so I think I can help out early.
BrokenR1 07-01-2004, 01:27 PM I'd be in also but I'll be in Orlando. I'm wanting to have Berk's guy look at my suspension also.
I haven't even looked at the bike yet to see what it's problem is.
beafer 07-01-2004, 01:29 PM Looks we might as well re-shedule this thing
Kenny S 07-01-2004, 02:13 PM I am off saturday. I have A TON of hours in working on the 02-03 R1's. I built mine from the ground up and rebuilt one motor. I am off sat and can help with things while I touch up my damn frame scratches. I am over it now, its either some touch up paint or some stickers. But from what I hear if I did an insurance claim they would total it with only a few little scratches, but its not that bad at all.
LET'S PUSH IT BACK TILL' NEXT WEEKEND THAT WAY EVERYONE COULD GET IN... MY CRIB IS STILL OPEN, WE'LL PUT IT IN STONE LATER CREW... :thumbup
BrokenR1 07-01-2004, 05:39 PM I'll be there next weekend if so.
Kenny S 07-01-2004, 06:18 PM Anybody need a carb or tb synch, I got a new carbtune.
BrokenR1 07-01-2004, 07:45 PM Seeing as my carbs have never been synch'd I could go for that.
Kenny S 07-01-2004, 08:00 PM How many miles? If its a ton and its never been done, you be happy afterwards,it will accelerate a hell of a lot smoother, run cooler, only a degree or 2, and in some cases sound smoother and quieter.
BrokenR1 07-01-2004, 08:03 PM Not sure on the miles. I've put a race Akro and a jet kit on it but never synch'd them.

How did you make out with your bike. (falling over)? Did you estimate the damage? Its really not that bad, I tend to exagerate things when I am upset. If I decide to get the frame polished I am going to cover it with a sticker, if not I am touching it up with some paint. It is still ugly to me though. You can all see it on sat if we have the bike clinic.

Where shooting for next weekend, that way all the fellas can get involved. Alot of our crew went out of town this weekend for the holiday. You could always buy those carbon fiber frame covers if your into that.. avoid the polishing and still have a sleek look..
BIKE CLINIC IS STILL ON FOR NEXT SATURDAY FELLAS !!
Kenny S 07-02-2004, 09:30 PM Good better for me, I wouldnt be able to do it this sturday now. Next weekend it is.

read the belikemike thread biatch
Kenny S 07-03-2004, 09:41 AM On my previos motor it had never been done till 11k, when I did it I was like a new machine.
I failed to tell everyone that when doing it its best to change the plugs and oil first, your actually suppossed to. But I can do plugs for anyone if they need em done too, I am sure anybody can do that though.
BrokenR1 07-05-2004, 03:26 PM That's a good idea, I'll have to get some new plugs before then.
Since most of us are doing oil changes, plugs, wires...etc.. Shouldn't we try to do a group buy some where??? :dunno
BrokenR1 07-05-2004, 06:55 PM That might help if we all use the same kind of oil, possibly filters. But I don't think it'll matter with the plugs and haven't a clue with wires.

I wonder where YAMAHOG get's all his supplies from? He might have a link for some place he deals with frequently...
beafer 07-05-2004, 07:02 PM I think Hog deals mostly with Riva, could be wrong though
Kenny S 07-07-2004, 07:30 PM What time Sat. I have to cover a fired managers shift till 4, so I cant make it till then.
One thing we need to do the synch is a a big fan to point towards the rad to keep the bike cool( normal op temp) while it idles and we are synching the carbs.

Wow Kenny, that might throw a wrench in to the mix.. I was hoping to get started early like around 11:00.. but I know most of the guys are interested in your carb sync... MAYBE SUNDAY MIGHT BE BETTER... :dunno
Kenny S 07-07-2004, 07:45 PM Sunday all day work, I think, I dont know I need to look at the schedule again. I know that I am off on Tuesday. I know the 4 o clock things sucks, I am sorry! I know everyone wa like hell ya a carb sych. I will make sure that I hook you all up, I got school, work, kids, o ya my crazy WIFE, so things tend to change from time to time.
Kenny S 07-07-2004, 07:47 PM I am off Tomorrow at 2, we can do it after that.
I'm game for Saturday afternoon, I had no plans really. Let's see what the fellas are saying? I have no problem with everyone meeting up around 3:00 and I'm sure within no time you'll make it up this side aswell. I have two fans by the way that will probably do the job for the sync ...
Kenny S 07-07-2004, 08:03 PM Good deal man, again I am sorry. Saturday I leave at 3 and should be wherever by 4.

Most of you want that carb sync that Kenny S can do. He doesn't get out of work till 3:00.. The hot sun will probably be a little mellow by then anyway. Do you think we need even more of a suntan heffa...
REAL IMPORTANT:
I did this mod some time back for under $20 bucks..
http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50641&highlight=autozone
For those of you interested. I have found a fan switch that comes on at 190 now instead of 220. I purchased it from Autozone, and it works great. Part number is SW518 and is by the company Wells
Kenny S 07-07-2004, 09:18 PM I am sure somebody has the Serivce Manual? It use to be on this site. It would be good to have just in case there something we want to do. I have developed a very annoying tick now, no its not the normal r1 tick, its bad header gaskets or maybe something in my TB's. It is coming from around the TBs by the headers its ticking me off, I cant find it. So saturday I am going to spend a few minutes hunting down what it is. Do I need to bring any tools, besides the carbtune? I got to hunt down all the adapters for it. I got a torque wrench I can fit in my bag. 6-80 ftlbs.
beafer 07-07-2004, 09:19 PM got dammit i love the internet. going to get that shit tomorrow.
And yet you cant wire up your signals correctly?
Kenny S 07-07-2004, 09:19 PM I wish that thing was an option ith my 02, I have to install a manual one.

Kenny S.. Post the question in the other forum. They may have it for the 02/03
I got these mirros from Lochart Phillips that have built in leds. Whenever I turn them on they both flash like hazard lights on a car. :dunno I hooked back up the stocks and they worked perfectly. (test) Might be the bulb outhput. Either way I need to re-wire the tail integrator thise weekend.

Fan Mod
Helpfull info courtesy of Sam Farris:
Unfortunately, this mod only works for the 98 & 99 bikes.
On the 98 & 99 models there is both a temperature switch and a temperature sender/sensor. It is the switch that you are swapping out with a lower temperature rated one. The temperature switch controls the fan turn-on and turn-off temperature. The temperature sender/sensor sends a signal to the temperature indicator on the instrument cluster.
For 2000 and newer R1's the temperature switch was eliminated and the temperature sender/sensor was left to perform both fan control and temperature indication. The interpretation of the temperature sender/sensor signal is performed inside the ECU, and the ECU then determines when the fan is to be turned on or off.
As some of you have discovered the temperature sender/sensor is physically smaller than the switch, and thus the new switch will not fit in the temperature sender/sensor hole.
Sam
BrokenR1 07-08-2004, 12:07 PM I put a 98 radiator on after the crash. Didn't realize it was a 98 till after I had received it.
lil R! 07-08-2004, 04:54 PM fan swith is easy, though you should not make the mistake I did......Sam was great help when I was doing this

We can do it before bike night on Wed too if you would like, I always have that night off after 3 to go.
