I just ordered a Ohlins steering damper for my 2000
R1 and it cost me a fortune. Does any one have any reviews on how they work and how easy they are to install.

Thanks!::eek:

The Ohlins is a great damper,as far as installation goes, what kind of mount did you get? Harris or Ohlins? The install is actually easy either way, just read the instructions and take your time this is not something you want to do wrong. Here are the Ohlins instructions

Thanks, Twisted!
The Ohilns damper that I ordered is a top mount and comes as a kit. It looks like it includes a triangular bracket that goes between the tank and triple tree.
Any reviews on the ease of adjustment?

I just installed it on my bike :) Look at the attached image.

Just loosen the main bolt on the triple clamp and place the three sided "thing" there.. can only fit one way.
Oh.. also loosen the screw to the left...

I have the Harris 916 fitting ket. I didn't use all the parts that came with the damper. Didn't find it necassary.. (couldn't either... heh).

Thanks for the picture Swedie, looks awsome!
:D I cant wait to get it installed. One question for you,
Is the carbon cover a factory piece or aftermarket?

The previous owner said it came with the bike.. = that it comes like that from the factory. but I'm not so sure.

I just installed the Ohlins steering damper, just wanted everyone to know easy it was to install and how trick
it looks. Pulled a couple of first gear roll-on's to test
it out and all works well.:lol The Ohlins kit doesn't
require removal of the mail bolt and now includes
a larger spacer so there is no rubbing.
:D :rock :D

The carbon cover is NOT standard equipment. Itīs not even carbon, itīs some cheap plastic sh*t that serves no purpose but adding weight.
