Originally posted by Abe Froman arright, good job, what happened with the crash tho? Here's a pic from my last trackday two weeks ago (going again a week from today) well what happened was that the tires were really good but the rearsets were stock with some aftermarket straight pegs. ( i bought the bike like that). if i pushed too hard i would grind my knee, then my toe, then my peg. one time i pushed the peg too hard and it shot me back up. i went off into the grass, but stupid me, pulled the front brake and went for a slide. :no silly mistake. but i got out a hacksaw, hacked off about 1/2" of the peg and rocked on.

that sucks.... i should have let you use my race body work and tank... hopefully the bike is not too bad.... It would have been cheaper to replace....

Looks great. I was on Fabi on friday but binned it in corner one in the 4th session. To bad it is, oops, was a new R1. On well, I bought it for the track and now it's no longer a virgin. We'll get her fixed for my day on the long track August 16th. Weeeeeeeeeee.

alright fellas i have a question. as i mentioned my crash was mostly caused by my own stupidity but the rearsets scraping definitely didn't help. so when riding hard, first my knee would touch, then my toe slider, then the peg. now i ended up hacking off about a half inch of the peg that day but are rearsets the only real answer here? i guess i just thought that there would be more clearance with the stock position. your thoughts?

i've looked into those lockhart phillips things. they are cheap enough and i hear good things about them. maybe i should look into the brackets and make some up myself.....hmmmm..... thanks, ando
