arright, good job, what happened with the crash tho?
Here's a pic from my last trackday two weeks ago (going again a week from today)
well what happened was that the tires were really good but the rearsets were stock with some aftermarket straight pegs. ( i bought the bike like that).
if i pushed too hard i would grind my knee, then my toe, then my peg. one time i pushed the peg too hard and it shot me back up.
i went off into the grass, but stupid me, pulled the front brake and went for a slide. :no
silly mistake. but i got out a hacksaw, hacked off about 1/2" of the peg and rocked on. sawboy 07-12-2004, 03:02 PM Nice pics andy, Sounds like we missed some fun.
Glad the carnage wasn't too bad. dextasy 07-12-2004, 07:26 PM Originally posted by ando11

It would have been cheaper to replace.... dextasy 07-13-2004, 02:01 PM Originally posted by ando11

well at least we know we didn't pass each other.:p Snobike Mike 07-13-2004, 07:51 PM Looks great. I was on Fabi on friday but binned it in corner one in the 4th session. To bad it is, oops, was a new R1.
On well, I bought it for the track and now it's no longer a virgin.

haha that's true....i'm going on the 9th as well and the 10th next day on fabi.....lot's of trackdays this month and august....:rock ...see ya on the 9th. ando11 07-19-2004, 11:07 AM alright fellas i have a question.
as i mentioned my crash was mostly caused by my own stupidity but the rearsets scraping definitely didn't help.
so when riding hard, first my knee would touch, then my toe slider, then the peg.
now i ended up hacking off about a half inch of the peg that day but are rearsets the only real answer here?
i guess i just thought that there would be more clearance with the stock position.
your thoughts? dextasy 07-19-2004, 01:12 PM Originally posted by ando11

rearsets or the vortex foot bracket spacers, if you can't shell out the big bucks for rearsets. the spacers basically raise your stock pegs about an inch or so. there is also a foot peg that rotates 360 degrees, so that you can raise or bring your pegs back to stock for the street....i don't know much about those, but lockhart philips sells them. ando11 07-19-2004, 01:24 PM i've looked into those lockhart phillips things. they are cheap enough and i hear good things about them.
maybe i should look into the brackets and make some up myself.....hmmmm.....
thanks,
ando stoddy 07-20-2004, 11:45 AM looks good but i would get some rear sets and get them up | |
