I have finally learned how to ride em. I still need some work on my throttle control, but I can keep it in the balance point now. Woo hoo. My buddy has been giving me tips, from what I have noticed and what he has told me, here are a couple of things I noticed. Bringing it up must be smooth, I don't know how to get it that way other than practice. The balance point is not scary like I thought it was, it's actually a nice place to be. I think that if you bring it up and you feel like you are going to flip you got it up there too hard.... needs to be smoother. At first I would clutch it up hard and hit the point, get scared, let out of it, slam the front wheel down. The smoother I get the easier it is to hold it in the point. I might be crazy, and my buddy is probably laughing his ass off at me if he is reading this. I've never seen this posted before, it was the most helpful to me, maybe to some one else too??? I think I deserve some champagne...... Miller High life that is.........:beer

szokr1 07-11-2002, 07:07 AM Jeff, just be careful, I have been practicing them as well and figured I had it nailed, could ride them from 1st to third at the balance point, I was just getting a lot better at keeping my speed consistent as well, I have them up at 100+ mph. atarted thinking I was the shit, then it happened.....
You know, the typical ego thing kicked in, riding with some of my brothers friends, they both just bought R6's and these are their first bikes, so they ask me to go out riding with them, well of course I have to show them how great I thought I was. I was pulling rolling stoppies, wheelies, bangin turns, you name it. Well we get stopped at a light and when it turns green i decide i am going to ride a nice long wheelie, I pull it up in first, get to the balance point, click into second, holding the balance point nice, all of a sudden I hit this big ass bump in the road that must have appeared overnight...didn't think it was there before, anyway, it kicks my rear end out a little sideways, throws me into what feels like a tank slapper but on the rear wheel, both feet fly off the pegs, draggin one on the ground, laying on the tank, barely holding on, come off the gas hard and the front wheel crashes down, when I land it I am at like a 15 degree angle to the left and I am still at 80 + mph, now the front goes into convulsions, even with my scotts damper. Pointing towards oncoming traffic lane, scares the shit out of me (literally). Some how I manage to muscle the damn thing straight and climb back on. First gas station I come to I pull in to have a cigarette, which by the way I quit smoking years ago, anyway, for some stupid reason, I am trying to act like it was no big deal because my little brothers friends are there, I am sure they seen right through it but they didn't want to let me know. So, I tell them it is getting late so i will ride with them another day, I take the bike home, change my underwear, and took a couple days off from riding.
Moral of the story, your ego can be like your dick, if you let it think for you, your ****ed.....
I won't say i am not going to ride wheelies anymore, because I admit it, at times I am a squid, however, I will definatly pick and chose where I decide to do it. Also, being 33 years old, i realize I really don't need to impress anyone anymore.
Szokr1
I've got no pimpen pimps.......:crash . When I get em you know I'll post em. szokr1, holy moly that sounds like a ride. I will watch out, and I'm 27, I've gathered a little bit of sense at my old age.....:crash Later for now fros.

1. it was time
2. Rich was coming and who knows who else.
So, I took a shower and trucked on over to Jr's. I picked up 2 count em 2 30 packs of Bud light. I then roll over to Marbulls to meet Rich and Terry. As I get there they are just leaving so Rich says I will meet you at your house. He does a huge burn out in the jeep now dubbed "White lightning", Runs over a racoon in front of the country estate...LMFAO. So we get to work on the house. About an hour later the twins pull up.....and guess what they brought more beer!!!!! All bottles, Miller high life, Stoneys, and Bud light. I love them twins. The end.:crash
