No, your eyes do not deceive you. Pocket bike manufacturer Blata is teaming with WCM on a 6 cylinder Moto GP bike. I wonder if it will be half the size of a 211v?:crash hehe here's the link WCM teams with Blata (http://motogp.tiscali.com/en/motogp/news_info/news_info_12453_1.htm?menu=news)

why go with the 6 cylinder I wonder? In two years and with the new rules the bike will have a big weight disadvantage and I am not sure the v6 will provide any real advantage over the other(less cylinders) engine designs. It seems to me that the KTM-Proton deal is more interesting. KTM is doing a good job in the 125cc and from what I heard their v4 is generating well over 200hp. Ok maybe not Honda or Ducati hp levels but definitely better than the proton v5(180-190hp).

I think KR is just biding his time. Some day he's going to come out with something brilliant. He pioneered today's current style of racing for the most part...I think he's got something up his sleeve.

I read KR Proton was onboard with the blata platform as well.

from what I understand, in case of the KR team the engine is the big problem. It's unreliable and way underpowered. The chassis, again from what I read, (and others opinions) is state of the art and right up there with the japanese manufacturers. It only makes sense that if they cannot build their own competitive engine they should seek help somewhere else (in this case KTM). In any case it will be interesting to see if a privateer team will be able to compete with the big 4 and ducati in the upcoming seasons.

I understand the same.... There chassis is supposed to be the most tech. Most usable remains to be seen. They are using composites and tech very utilized from F1 but barely used in GP. I think its great for GP, and if they get a powerplant that works better, I look forward to seeing them have better success.

Unfortunately the KTM MotoGP V-4, is now officially a "Dead Project", that is the reason you are beginning to see more publicity photo's of the assembled prototype engines :yesnod In the case of the Proton chassis, one of the main reasons it is so sound structurally, is that the entire chassis is CNC machined from solid billet (even the internal air passages), it is not extruded, and/or cast. This is an extremely costly and time consuming process for manufacturing a chassis, but it is also incredably accurate and tunable :thumbup

In a tiscali/moto gp interview the main guy from KTM said they couldn't afford the commitment, 'and success of the whole company" on a motoGP effort. Bummer. The concepts from there streetbike looked really good and I would be more then interested in riding one given they come to market with it

that's maybe why they will team up with KR. I say this but their union still depends on the result of the tests KR will have with the KTM engine.
