Hey Gents, Went for a ride today starting out in New Braunfels out to the devils backbone, across to 281 and back in to Dripping Springs and ate at the Salt Lick. Then Back Home. Was a fun little ride. Some pics of us stopped at the Henly Turn Off. You guys should join us next week. Wednesdays evenings.

Not a problem. Traffic was terrible but once we got out a little on 1431 where it turns into a one lane it was pretty fun. We didn't go down very far as we wanted to be back at Jack's around 8:45 or 9:00. Met up with some guys and rode down 2222 and back up and then downtown. Was different riding and a little more city than I normally like but still fun. Jason

Hey guys, I'm here in Austin and always looking for folks to go for a ride. If you don't mind adding a person I wouldn't mind tagging along for a run. Unfortunately I can't do the rides during the week; only Friday through Sunday. What is your ridiing style?

Just space yourself away from the rest if your feeling squidly at the moment. I think we've agreed knee dragging is only possible on the track (?). Most weekends Deguello is in Dallas and I work weird hours - some weekends. We're talking about a ride to 337 sometime soon so check back frequently. Jon

No not much riding at all Jason. Rain, work, and daylight savings put a big dent on our Wed. outings. Deguello has rode a few times more to Leakey with some Dallas guys. I think the weather was less than ideal though. Kevin Wrecked his bike last weekend but I still haven't heard the details, he must be OK because he emailed some pics- looks kinda ugly, Batman's due for an upgrade. Happy Holidays! :butt

Mammalian04

Damn... Tell Kevin I am sorry to hear about that if you come across him. Hope he is alright. Here's to the weather getting better. :beer Happy Holidays man!

12-08-2004, 02:40 PM
It's not my fault!!!!! Kevin broke his foot, missed a hard and drop down left turn. Hey Jason, whats this about going to Colorado? Are you going to live there for awhile? Had 4 guys down from Dallas a month ago, one hit a deer at 60mph on his new ZX10. Nothing broken and bike wasted. See you soon.

12-08-2004, 05:36 PM
Damn. Bad luck lately. Things gettin dangerous... Deer are just bad news too... I am just going to Colo for a little snowboarding. Flight gets in late on the 23rd and heading out after Christmas lunch for Colorado. Hope I can shake my 20.5 hour jet lag. lol... I will be back around the 2nd or 3rd... Hope the Weather is decent. Can't wait to jump back on for a ride.

what a coincidence...me and my buddy are the ones who started the austinsportbikers website on yahoo... started out with 5 guys and now i see its up to 87! When we first started riding in Austin, we met up almost 3-4 times a week with a huge group within austin...its looks like things have died down now...hahaha...

Mammalian04
12-08-2004, 06:20 PM
I know. What's the deal? Need to pick things up man! Ya'll Still have any rides?

ghostrider1
12-08-2004, 10:31 PM
well, our "core" group has kinda disbanded... 2 moved to houston, one moved to florida, 2 sold their bikes since nobody rides anymore, and the other 2 have their bikes but haven't ridden in months. I moved to Minnesota in April and no longer have my R1, but I bought a 900rr when I moved up here. Its hard to ride when its snowing outside....hahaha.... As far as I know, the only really active guys in the group now are Matt (badmojo), Julian (he has a bike shop in Austin), and Lance (piercedfreek, he owns A Million Tattoos and Piercings in Austin). Other than that, all of the other guys on there that you talk to are new.... You should get in touch with them...I know that there is still a very active community in Austin that they ride with...and if i know them, they are still out at night stuntin wherever they can find open pavement.... I'll leave a note on there and tell them to get in touch with you...
