Now is your chance to own this very important tool. There is no better way to adjust your steering head bearings then with this wonderful tool. All you need is a torque wrench with a 19mm socket and attach the socket to this baby and you can get an accurate pre-load and final torque for the steering head bearing nut.

Is this is all I'd need (plus torque wrench..) to tighten the steering stem bearings? Only question is, what are you gonna use or have been using? Is this a better tool for the job than say a Kowa?

This tool is the only tool to do the job in my opinion. There are other tools out there like the Yamaha spanner type but I don't think it is as accurate as this one once you attach a torque wrench. Yes, aside from this tool all you need is a 19mm socket and torque wrench and your set.
I am selling this tool only because I no longer have my '02 R1 so I no longer need it. This is a great tool at a great price.

the bearings are around the steering stem if your forks are bad thats a seperate job. if you have a little rattle lossening in the neck grab the front brake rock the bike foward if it moves (the steeing head) then u need to tighten the lock nuts remove the steering stem nut and you will seee 2 lock nuts loosen both with this tool ,a spanner, or channel ocks tighten it to feel u must put your bike on a floor jack to do this.
the bearings tke a wile to go bad and usually wont go bad untill a cradh hard .
I replaced mine and didnt need to , I had 7500 miles and the ones I pulled are still good .
