Ok guys, I need your help. I want to do wheelies but start them in second gear. I have a 2002 R1. To do a clutch wheelie, do I just release the clutch completely, or do I play with it to get it up? What I mean is, do I bring up the RPM at 7-9k then release the clutch slowly (like riding the clutch on a car), or should I just just release it completely. Keep in mind that when I do that, the bike just jumps forward but does'nt go up much (2 inches). I could really use all the help here. Do I ride the clutch to get it up or not???

6k ... pull in clutch at the same time as you give more throttle.. keeping more throttle while you once again release the clutch.. your front wheelie no longer touch the ground.

2ND gear at about 45MPH, push in the clutch, rev it high to aobut 9k or so and let the clutch out. It works everytime for me. A lot of guys do it at 60 plus, I find the lower speeds better, because you can ride it out further.

go about 45 mph on 2nd gear... sit straight and with your one or two fingers (I use one) pull the clutch about 2 inches (just so it grabs a little) and in the same time give the engine a rev to about 7-8k and let the clutch go... It will come up...just practice.. I am still practicing too... I can get it up at pretty much any speed as long as is not crazy fast...

Scoot about an inch back from the tank, Brink it up to about 6000 rpm and just twist the throttle. Forget the clutch. It's not nessecary until 3rd gear. Atleast for me. I'm 215lbs. Stock bike with gutted exhaust. :jump
