Solidus 07-13-2002, 09:58 PM I saw these on E-bay and I contacted the seller by e-mail asking him if he would be willing to do a buy in. He had them pretty reasonalbly priced at 85.00 for the rear and 92.00 for the front but they look pretty damn good and are zinc plated. If I have to I'll front the funds for 10 sets front and rear but if you all are'nt interested I'll just get a set for myself. Those of you who don't have stands don't know how convenient they are and it makes oil changes , chain cleanings and other maintenence go so much easier. I already have three stands but since I'm getting a new house I want new matching stands. (Not one of mine is looks alike.1 micron and 2 LP's. Red , silver , chrome.)

Solidus 07-13-2002, 09:59 PM It has a bike specific front mount point.
madcow 07-14-2002, 09:54 AM i may be interested..(not %100 sure yet) but would want to konw how much shipping will be..that can make a difference if it is from some places. thanks
Solidus 07-14-2002, 11:54 AM I believe it's 15.00 bucks each. I have'nt gotten an e-mail back.
red900 07-14-2002, 11:13 PM i might be in, maybe, ned more info on shipping and so on
Solidus 07-15-2002, 07:06 AM He said he could definately do the stands for us at less than the e-bay price but he needed at least 25 sets sold. He also said he may even be able to do them at a really good price and would contact the manufacturer. Also shipping should be cheaper for the set than for two packages. He's also pushing other goods for bikes so I hope you guys help me make this work.
u"R1"badMoFo 07-15-2002, 07:11 AM Do these stands work with spool for the rear or do they work right off the swing arm. I have never had a stand for any of my bikes but I remember reading another thread and I think people were saying the spool was better. Let me know as I probably am going to get a set. I've already been looking for a set.
zenek2k 07-15-2002, 07:17 AM search posts for pitbull stands or stands and you'll find that there is a comapny that will send you both stands for $99 (as per person that bought them they are very high quailty)
Solidus 07-15-2002, 07:40 AM Is very high quality. But the pitbull is over 100 bucks each. As for those 99.00 for a pair stands. That's the reason I have 3 stands now . BadMofo: yes these are spool stands and having both at home now I prefer the spool stands to the pads. Especially on the 01 due to the brake lines . The front stand is a lift type with an R1 specific jackpoint.

If I'm looking at the same site that you are talking about for the $99 deal on a set of stands the site says the package deal is no good for the R1. The rear stand alone is $83 dollars and I'm not sure what the supports are for the bike they list bobbin supports or rubber supports. What the hell is a bobbin? Here's the site if you want to look. http://www.handyindustries.com/urws.asp
Solidus I think I'm going to go with your deal if it looks good compared to others that I come across. I do need some stands but I don't know if you are going to get 25 people or not maybe you should start a poll or something to see who will buy.
Solidus 07-15-2002, 09:32 AM Even so I'll get them for myself the price is still good. Bobbins are spools. The stand I've posted about has both. If you gimme till I can get sorted I hope we can do this if not hit me up on the PM to get this guys e-mail. It's a good deal even without the groupbuy.

might be another option

What do you think about these stands since you already have three sets I value your opinion.
Solidus 07-15-2002, 09:21 PM But the finish is not as good. I was in a rush to get stands when I bought my first set. The other two I was just hangin around with some cash in my pocket and someone had stands to sell. Knowing what I know now I would not have wasted the money on any of the stands I have opting instead for quality fit and finish.
VtwinsSuck 07-15-2002, 09:53 PM I think someone on the forum had a thread about these stands about 5-6 weeks ago . He said they were decent for the money , but that he had to modify one of the stands to fit the R1 , there are at good enough prices ,its worth looking into .
Solidus 07-15-2002, 11:25 PM Just to be up front and keep you all informed , I just got a ****ed up e-mail from this guy. He says that the price for 1-9 is 250.00 and the rate if I got 25 people would be 202.00 with a drop ship to a single address. Correct me if I'm wrong , but the original buy it now price was 92 for the front and 85 for the rear. How this could end up at 202 for a purchase of a total of 50 units is beyond me. I'm being liberal and looking for the deal in there somewhere. Deal equals good for us and I'm somehow missing it in the salad. I'm gonna forget I got that e-mail and ask him to drop the crackpipe . For 202 I can walk down to the dealer and pick up a set of pittbulls. I'm gonna reply now and I think his answer may either be hostile or hillarious. I'll let you know . I should get his reply tommorow.
Madcuban 07-16-2002, 07:34 AM Hi all those are K&L stands I sell those. They are much like the pitbull stands but lack the push bar. They are very good stands but they do come unassembled. Not in 1 unit like the pit pulls. I've had no problems with them and they are cheaper than the pitbulls. If you guys want I can try a group buy on this forum. Let me know.

bigdogmike 07-16-2002, 07:49 AM Solidus,
I have been watching, and if the price comes out straight, I may be interested. Course apparently a lot of this depends on the herb of the day for the dude. I would def. be interested in just a rear, but would not dissappointed with a matching pair.:D
Madcuban,
Please pm or mail your price for a group buy to Solidus. It looks to me that the actual # of people may be lower than 25, like 10-15, but if the price is good maybe more peeps would get excited.
Madcuban 07-16-2002, 08:24 AM Hey I'm just going to post the new GB
Solidus 07-16-2002, 09:39 AM I'm jumpin on to Madcubans deal. My guy was full o' crap. BTW his e-bay username was sportbikedepot. What he was attempting was a straight jack. Said he made a mistake on the pricing. Amazingly it is the same as madcuban's 10 or more price . I'm goin with the cubano.
Solidus 07-16-2002, 11:58 AM He e-mailed me back sayin that we'd better watch out on shipping and make sure the stands had the pins included. Then he says he figured out a way to give us 188.00 for a set. :finger

I've talked to madcuban a couple a times on the phone already. I ordered the velocity stacks from him. And he seems like a very good guy to deal with. I plan to order more stuff from him as long as a feel like I'm getting a good deal
