Hey fellas we need to get a Gap trip up. We have not had a good somewhat organized one since the convention. I remember last year doing several. So let's think about when we can do one. I think Eric said a while back he might be going the last weekend of August. Let's hear some dates and ideas of where to stay. Some options: Phillips Motel Fontana Village The Ridge and Treetops Cabins www.thetreetops.com Possibly even Maryville (although I don't know much about things there) So, let's hear some input. Chad

BTW, I have stayed at all of the places except Maryville. All are good spots. Treetops cabin is really cool. It has 7 beds and the Ridge not sure about. BUt the website says it can sleep 18 between the two. And if we call Ron and Nancy I am quite confident they will give us a discount rate. Just an idea.

I went 2 weeks ago and stayed in Maryville. Maryville has: 1) only 30 minute drive to the dragon, and rt 129 goes into town 2) I stayed in a Fairfield Inn (Marriot hotel) and it was very comfy 3) the best restuarants like HOOTERS, TGIF, TEXAS STEAKHOUSE, APPLEBEES, etc 4) bars and clubs with the cuteist southern girls you ever saw who you can get loaded with and stay out till after 3 am 5) lots of stores for your every need. why stay in the woods when you dont have to?

I will be there that weekend as well. I will be staying with the owners of 129 Motorcycle Pitstop in Maryville. I should be there Friday and staying thru Sunday. Chad, the R6Messagenet has booked the Treetops as of yesterday or so I was told. The best part of staying in the Maryville area is the food and since my body was built with quite a few T-bones, I am sure the steakhouse will know my AMEX number by heart after Sunday! Not very forgiving run offs. It is a great place to ride. Beautiful place. check out www.tailofthedragon.com for the latest updates and great routes. And have fun!!

Kevin info@mrcycles.com Great idea Kevin. Then we can all stay at your place everytime :D . I am sure the land up there is pretty cheap too. Especially off the beaten path. You could put up and Official R1 Forum.com Double wide:D

Hey guys, I will be at the Fontana Inn, Franklin from August 11-15th for a Supermagna meet. Will be on the one, so if ya wanna come over join in on some rides and late night drinking feel free to come on down. Great bunch of riders and people are always happy to see the Supermagnas which if i remember correctly became collectible last year. Like I said i will be bringing the one gonna let the super sit this ride out especially since i have heard so much of the dragon on this forum. All are welcome later Bic

Sounds like we need to come up with a good weekend date. Any ideas? September is a good time for the Gap. To try and get something by the end of august may be a little tough if we are looking at a good crowd. But I am open for whatever.

Just a curious question here, there are 4 of us coming up from SC on Oct 2nd weekend, are the leaves bad by then or is it still safe then? We figured it would be nice and cool out by then, maybe chilly during the night but good riding temps in the day.
