I have no clue, I think Ive been to that board maybe 3 times this year, Im sure they have a thread going for it, a friend of mine said he was going and wanted me to tag along, but Im going in early Oct.

You know I'm in.....let's stay at Alcoa and be somebody! I've had my CROT fix this month. It was wide open and wild all night or at least until 3:30 AM or so. This guy pulled the mufflers off his busa and backed it up to his buddies room next door. Then he lit it up and sat on the rev limiter for forever! The smoke alarms on the building went off from the smoke. Shreds of rubber all up the front wall of room 11..... I love the sound of a busa in the morning!

Guys, I might try to get out of working that weekend if the weather is looking excellent. Like Chad says, we haven't ridden together this year enough.

My brother and I drove from Fontanna to Maryville last time we were at the GAP and it is too far for me. I'll probably stay at the Phillips again, but we can still get together and ride. :rock

that is cool eddie. I hope you can make it. I think you are starting to feel a little sick already:D And if you decide to make it and stay at Phillips or Fontana I may do the same.

I'm planning on being there with my usual group of about 5 to 10 riders. Hopefully staying at Phillips.

Eric is on his way back from colorado, so he should post up here soon. Anyways, we always stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Alcoa. I think it is about $50 or so a night, ,so between 2 people that isnt bad. Its about 3 miles from 129 and then about 15? miles to the gap. Its not bad at all, and we can grub down on some good chow at night.

When are you guys getting there? Friday?

I'm definitely looking forward to it. Its been too long...

Goober, not sure yet. Maybe some of these guys will answer. I am most likely gonna come up friday evening and then leave sunday. I think I may stay in Robbinsville or Fontana though.

just to let you guys know the foothills pkwy is open now,I have been to the gap almost everyday this month.its in good shape but a few bad spots where wreckers put down the stabilizers.be safe.

yeah its tough I live just 14 miles from there if I take happy valley & 5 or so to the beginning of the parkway,I kinda like the pkwy better, in some spots were up to 160 + u can absolutely rip there.

That is good to know. I have not ridden the Foothills parkway before. Been closed for such a long time. Definately going to have to give it a run next weekend.:yesnod

Eric and I are staying at the Comfort Suites across from the airport. We are heading down thursday evening so we'll be on the gap friday!

The Green dot is the Start point where 143 meets 129 just outside Robbinsville. We will ride up 129 to the Cross Roads of Time and hang for a few MINUTES. We can ride across the Dragon a time or two then top off with gas before heading down 28 all the way into GA. 28 is great twisties from Cross Roads all the way down into GA. There is some of the most incredible sights you will ever see on this route. The Fontana Dam, Bridal Veil Falls, Dry Falls, Cullasaga Falls, Satula Falls and Satula Mountain and not to mention most everything in GA. Once in GA we will get on Warwoman Road - another great road that is not to be missed - and take it over to Clayton, GA. In Clayton we jump on 76, 197, 356 and 75 back over to 129. Then it is up 129 and across Blood Mountain - this road is like a freaking racetrack with its tight curves like the Dragon but is 2 lanes wide and nearly all the curves are banked really good. We will follow 129 back up to Blairsville, GA. From there it is a relaxing cruise up a section of 4 lane of 129/19 which is nice after all those twisties. We jump on 129 where 129 & 19 split and ride 129 back into Robbinsville to eat and talk about the awesome ride we just had.



For those of us staying in Maryville/Alcoa we could meet up at the Crossroads of Time around 9-9:30. Early morning Gap runs better that caffine to wake up too!

I'd rather go 4 hours and ride with you guys in the mountains!

Just booked a house at Phillips in Robbinsville for me and my group of 7. We will be leaving the Charlotte area around 4am Saturday morning, arriving in Robbinsville sometime around 8 or 9 to check in.:thumbup

To All: When and Where is the group planning to meet on Saturday? Or is this in the plan for the weekend at all? Looks like everyone is going to be pretty spread out from Phillips in Robbinsville to Alcoa to anywhere else. Also arriving at different times.

We should all be meeting at the CROT Saturday morning 9:30-10 for the North Georgia ride.
