Now that I'm getting comfortable on my R1 (had it for 2 1/2 months). I'm looking at changing the suspension settings, such as dropping the forks about 5mm. I have hear that doing this helps keep the front on the ground, due to more weight being put over the front ( I expect ???). But is it noticable my wheelies arn't the greatest, but is it going to make them worse???. Or is it just one of those things you sacrifice for better handeling??? cheers:beer

Hey Marshall, I've dropped mine to 7mm and it has made it marginally harder but I think I'll get over it as I get used to it and adjust accordingly. But it sure as hell handles better. Just give it more stick and she'll come up no worries:rock :thumbup

I dropped mine 6.5mm and I didn't notice and differance in wheelies.. it still comes up.. make sure you have a damper if you are planning to drop the front..

i've dropped mine 5mm, rear pre-load is 8 etc. this has made it easier to wheelie, no dipping in the rear, so the throttle has more of an instant effect.... it now pulls small wheelies in 3rd of clutch, whereas it did'nt with the standard sus. settings. Be careful though, i was used to pully 2nd gear wheelies off the clutch but when using the same amount of throttle after the rear pre-load was upped, i went nearly vertical yesterday and it happened so f*!kn quickly ! - so just get used to the new sus. settings and new throttle positons needed for wheelies - still the more thrills the better!
