Recently, someone resurrected the footpeg bolt issue. This has been a lingering situation that, as far as I know, Yamaha has not addressed.

In the interests of forum member safety, perhaps we should have a "Safety Issues and Factory Recalls" forum. In such a forum, the footpeg bolt issue would be a "sticky" and any newbie could go directly to the "Safety Issues" forum to find out what the outstanding problems are. Veterans could likewise be kept up to date on same.

Just a thought. If this information is provided elsewhere on the site, then I apologize for wasting everyone's time. But I know that when I start to shop for a vehicle, I want first to get the rundown on the problems with that vehicle. In the case of motorcycles, a "problem" could constitute a great danger, as we have seen with the footpeg bolts.

Good idea. Just don't know how much traffic it would get.

Good idea! I also remember reading about a issue with the 04's having some wiring rubbing against some metal causing a problem. (something like that, lol).

Probably a good idea, but I don't think that section would get too much traffic. I think a few sticky's at the top of the Mech Help section would more than suffice.
