: my review of two brothers exhaust on 04 r1
spdfreakr1 09-17-2004, 11:04 PM i got my exhaust today. to my surprise, it got here quite a few days early. their website says it would take 5-7 business days and it only took 4... and the best part? shipping was FREE. they are in cali and im in atlanta.
now, i got the 'cheapest' system they had... the mvale stainless steel/polished aluminum look. it looks excellent! all the pipes are polished, and looks very good! the exhaust sounds really mean. i like it. hopefully i can get a video or two of the sound. its very loud. i ride with earplugs, and i can still hear it fairly well.
the finish is good. the pipes fit very well, and despite me being in a rush to put them on, they fit on painlessly... for the most part. they bolt right up and slip on very easy. here are some pictures.

the tips look crooked because of the angle i took the picture from. they are aligned straight.
i cant decide if i like the polished look with the blue/black scheme. im debating powdercoating the pipes black or not. tough choice.
the pipes bolt up to the muffler via a plate with 4 screws. they send you the proper allen wrench to install the pipes. they also send you a tube of gasket maker and a packet of anti sieze. all in all, for 699 shipped, its an excellent deal.
silver_02_rider 09-17-2004, 11:08 PM those pipes look badass. Good choice brother. :thumbup
R1 BEAST 09-17-2004, 11:26 PM nice bike....now I'm debating if I should by the TBR exhaust or the Termis but the price sounds good what color is tip is it black?those it look like you could change the color of the tip?
I got the same ones, good choice :)

you could possibly... you would need to tape off the rest of the pipe and use high temp spray paint. the tip is black. i do not think you can swap out tips... i could be wrong though.
the price was the best i could find new for an exhaust system.
also, i forgot to mention that the pipes dont get very hot... unlike the factory exhaust, these stay quite cool(for an exhaust) they arent too hot to the touch after you turn the bike off. and running temps are always below 180 while moving at a good speed.
spdfreakr1 09-20-2004, 01:29 PM now have a soundclip under load if anyone can host. its 3.5 megs.
Those pipes look good. I've always run Two Bros on my other bikes and been happy with them. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me on the pipes for the R1 are the exposed bolts in the end cap. I wish they looked more like the ends on the Termis. Other than that looks good. Did you put a PC on there or are you running with stock FI? If it's still stock, how your bike running?
spdfreakr1 09-21-2004, 07:58 AM its still stock for now. it also has a gutted cat. it runs fine overall, but at idle it surges... kinda like a car with a cam. it needs more fuel and im going to be getting a powercommander as soon as i can sell my gps and cd/mp3 player.

why kind of exhaust do you have or still stock? what exhaust would you get
I'm still running stock exhaust on my bike. I really like the look of the stock cans so I'm not sure what I'll end up putting on it - I like the Two Bros, Graves ovals, and the Termis. The Termis are just so damn expensive. I probably won't end up doing anything until next summer anyways.

I fell the same the way, today I went to Two Bros to buy an Exhaust the carbon fiber but I did not have my Credit Card for some reason, I lost it but I oder a new one so it will take about 10 days..... so now I think it happen for reason, I was getting dealer price $509 for the carbon but I don't know? so what do you think? if I buy Termis it will be about $500 more....my friend knows the Production Manager thats why I'm getting dealer price...:dunno
That's a tough call - I think I'd go with the Two Bros and maybe get a PC with the extra cash. That's my two cents.

YEA I THINK I WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM ...SEND ME A PM./.. ILL GIVE YOU MORE DETAILS..
diego R1 05 12-28-2004, 02:38 PM Cool pipes. I have a red '05 R1 and am thinking about getting the two bros. carbon fibers. The Remus carbon fibers I have on my Honda 919 give off NO heat. They are also mounted under the seat. Did you have the EFI adjusted with your cans? Are you happy with the new sound of the two bros pipes?
04-R1-04-SRT-4 01-17-2005, 07:48 AM Just got my Two bros and love them!! Looks great, nice shape compliments the bike, sounds are great!! Def would buy again, check out indysuperbikes.com thats where i bought mine, best price around.
spdfreakr1 01-17-2005, 10:09 AM no, i have no power commander on my bike. just bolted the pipes on and it eventually adjusted itself for better idle. it could use some fine tuning though. i will eventually get one, maybe when i start powdercoating some more stuff.
JCStangR1 01-26-2005, 10:04 AM can u try and post some sound clips for the two brothers? my buddys both have CBR600's and they have two brothers and they sound sick. my yoshi on my 600 sounded ok but i want more sound like the termi those sounded sick :rock theres too many damn opinions and exhaust to chose from i have no idea which way to go for my slip-ons :dunno any sound clips would be awesome :jump

Nice review!
justfish 01-29-2005, 10:34 PM may be dumb question but do all brand slip ons bolt on after the muffler?

the slip on IS the muffler... if youre talking about the bulge in the exhaust in the 'y" pipe, thats the catalytic convertor. some systems come with a pipe that replaces that piece in order to remove the cat, others dont. my two bros didnt, but i gutted the cat anyways. its not hard, takes about 45 mins to get it ALL out.
justfish 01-30-2005, 08:37 AM If you gut the catalyic convertor do you have to run a PC or can you still get away without it?

i have no power commander and my a/f ratio is fine.
Chemical7 02-02-2005, 01:56 AM I like both the Termis and the 2Bros, they are in keeping with the original design of the OEM exhaust. I also like the Micron Serpentine System, it's seems to be a viable design. I just can't decide wich one to get!:dunno
BSR-1 02-05-2005, 07:39 PM spdfreakr1,
