I'm 25 live in Hilton head island SC I'm married with 3 kiddos. I have owned several different bikes in my 7 years of riding but this my first liter bike. I picked it up for cheap in really great shape from a friend. The only sad part about it is the fact that I had to sell my 94 yzf750r that I built into a streetfighter. I bought it for super cheap in really shitty condition. I put A LOT of work into her from doing the valves to building a custom subframe to fit a 00 r6 tail. I loved it but in order for me to keep my wife and get the R1 I had to sell her. For some reason my wife thinks that having 2 project bikes ( 03 zx636 and 05 zx636 ) and 2 running riding bikes is to much. It's not fair in my opinion but the Yzf had to go. Alright well enough of the blah blah here are some pics:D

Here's my new to me R1 it has been my dream bike since I started riding and now I own one F**K YEA

She sat up for a couple months before I bought her so first things first was charge battery, clean carbs, new coolant and oil change. I haven't done the oil change yet but the other stuff is done. I made one BIG boo boo while cleaning the carbs though. When I took the tank off fuel was coming out of the petcock because I didn't realize it has an external fuel pump so thinking nothing of I put the tank upside down. BIG mistake this is what happened

Yea I wasn't to happy.
Anyone know where to get yamaha blue paint? It can be spray can or regular paint cuz I have a paint gun and compressor

Also what brand intergrated tail light is this? Any ideas? It has two yellow wires for the signals and a 011 on the plastic inside

I own '12 R1. It came with Dunlop Q2. And now my back tire has been finished after 7,000kms. Front is fine so I want to replace the rear and I have 2 questions:

1-) Will it be a problem if I change the rear with a different brand&model tire. Will the difference of the pattern of front and rear make any differenceİ?

2-) I use my bike on the road all the times. I want to have a long milage on the middle of the tire. But I want it to stick to the road when I ride it in the curves. So I preferably need a dual compound tire. So I'll have a long straight millage and a good side holding. Any brand&model suggestions?

I bought this a couple years ago when I was racing. Haven't raced in 2 years now and need to get rid of it. I am unsure of the size. Can't find the size on the tag. I'm 5'8" and 190lbs and it was a little long for me. So I would say if you are 5'8"-6'0" and 180-200 you'll be good. It has some rash on it and the stitching is coming out on one little spot but no tears.

Like the bike and have had the suspension set up but not fully trusting the front end yet. Might just be me getting used to the bike as I've come off a super moto. Its very stable at speed but low speed corners not so. Might just be rider input!

Tyres are Pilot pure 120/70 front 33psi, Pilot road 3 190/55 rear 35 psi.

Settings are -

Fork settings -

Compression - 12 clicks out
Rebound - 12 clicks out
Fork springs - 925
Fork oil - FL75
Fork oil level - 95mm
Preload - 11 turns in
Static Sag 32mm
Fork position - standard/ flush

Shock Settings -

Compression - 5 clicks out
Rebound - 15 clicks out
Preload - 3rd from Soft
Static sag - 10mm
otherwise standard
