P.s I use a translogic dash so much of my wiring is redundant and thus the thickness of my loom is minimal now and self amalgamating tape is awesome :yesnod

Ive done the ignition wires, have got rid of the relay now and joined the wires as you told me :)

Ive removed the fan wiring totally and will wire a stand alone switch so that it is a completely manual switch.

I have 2 wires at the ignition control box which are now redundant and these are the black cycle wire and a blue/yellow wire, I assume I can just pull the pin out the plug..?

Sonive done everything now except wire 2004 coil sticks instead of the standard twin coils, are the 2004 coilsticks ok to use?

Thankyou for all your help, no one else on the forum seems to have a clue about electrics!

on 98-99 r1 there is a thermal switch on the radiator in addition to temperature gauge .
just connect your manual switch in parallel with the thermal switch .
