FS: '03 R1 - 24K Miles - Black With Red Flames - Multiple Buying Options

Well, the time has come. I have decided to stop riding on the street and dedicate my attention purely to the road race track. That being said, this bike is just too damned nice to put on the track and beat the hell out of. So, I have decided to sell her, buy a blank frame, and build a track/race bike.

Quick history of the bike: I bought the bike in August of '04 with around 6000 miles on her and almost completely stock. All service and maintainance has been done by me. The bike has NEVER been crashed, wrecked, or damaged while riding. The only time anything but the tires has ever touched the ground is when my mother accidentally let is fall at a sit still on the right side in her driveway (I was volunteering in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and the bike was stored in her garage). The fall did absolutely NOTHING but put the little scratches on the right side lower (see picture below). The bar ends, exhaust, swingarm, rearsets, levers, mirrors, etc were all untouched and the ones that are on the bike now are the ones that were on the bike when it rolled off the dealer floor. The miles are almost primarily commuting miles with the occasional Hill Country run and 2 track days. Both track days (3 September 07 and 23 February 08) were run gently and without any crashes. I have meticulously maintained the bike during the time I have owned her. As an example, I still have the stock chain and rear sprocket on the bike. The sprocket has not started hooking and the chain still has room to stretch and still moves fluidly. THAT is how anal I am with maintanance. In fact, the bike with 24200 miles runs better now than she ever has before. I think she is good and broke in and is screaming like never before.

I have so much stuff for this bike, I have decided to list it with 3 different buying options so as to try and attract all manner of potential buyers.

Option A: Mostly Stock, $5500
With this option, you are getting the bike as close to stock as I cared to take it. Here is the general rundown of the bike as she sits right now, in Option A format:

*24200 Miles on the bike
*Stock exhaust
*Graves Velocity Stacks
*Graves AIS Smog block-offs
*K&N Air Filter
*Galfer SS front and rear brake lines
*Galfer HH Pads, front and rear
*Motogrip Deathgrip...grips!
*Fender Eliminator
*Vortex 15 tooth (-1) countershaft sprocket, stock 530 width
*MotoMummy brake reservoir sock
*Red Anodized windscreen bolts
*Red reflective rim tape
*New front wheel bearings (~1000 miles ago)
*Stomp Grip tank grips, black
*Black powdercoated levers, gas cap, rearsets, passenger pegs, and exhaust
*Frame plugs
*Red LED marker lights
*Graves swingarm spools, black
*New YAUSA battery (installed in December)
*Speed bleeders, front and rear brake system
*Gregg's Frosted LED front flushmount turn signals
*Custom LED integrated rear taillight w/turnsignals
*VFX turn signal resistor (slows flash rate back to normal with all LED lighting)
*Dzus 1/4 turn D-Ring fairing bolts, black

For $5500, you get the bike as listed above along with a set (front & rear) of Handy Stands and an extra oil filter (OEM) for the bike. The factory tool kit, original owners manual, and all documentation will be included with the bike.

The pictures below show the bike in the condition described above and as how she sits right at this moment:

The close-ups were taken to reflect the only real "flaws" that are on the bike aside from little rockchips and the such from 24000 miles of road use. The picture of the right lower shows the damage from my mother setting it down on the side (and her leg). The right mid has the streaks pictured that happened in the hill country when they were repaving the roads in Leakey 2 summers ago. I think they will buff out with a rubbing compound, but i do not have a variable speed buffer at the moment so i cannot try. The headlight has a slight scratch in it that surprisingly looks worse in the picture than in real life (i was afraid i wasn't going to get it to show up). The tank is in great shape aside from a few swirl marks at the front corners from the magnets of a tank bag I used to ride with. The passenger seat has a slight scuff from storage but, again, it looks worse in the picture than it really is. The mileage on the gauges is the acutal mileage. Mileage at delivery may be 5-10 miles more due to showing the bike. The tires are brand new Michelin Pilot Powers in a 120/70 front and 180/55 rear. They have 2 gentle track days and about 50 road miles on them. They have LOTS of life left.

Option B: Moderately Aftermarket, $6250
With this option, you get everything in Option A but with some parts of your choice swapped out based on the parts list of aftermarket parts I have below:

*Windscreen: Your choice; stock, dark smoke, or red chrome double bubble
*Exhaust: Your choice; stock, Scorpion scorched Titanium high-mount slip-on, or Ladybird Titanium slip-on with Akrapovic Titanium midpipe and Graves exhaust hanger, black
*Power Commander IIIUSB: Included
*Mid and Lower Fairings: Your choice; Limited Edition flamed, or flat black mids and rattle can (decent job) gloss black lowers for a Raven replica look
*GYT-R solo seat cowl: Included
*Bar Ends/Spools: Your choice; stock bar ends and Graves spools, black or black powdercoated spiked bar ends and spools
*Levers: Your choice; stock or black Pazzo shorty Roll-A-Click levers with Gold levers
*Bonus: Your choice; Vortex black keyless gas cap or Graves frame sliders and clutch slider

Upon a down payment on the bike, I will set the bike up however the new owner wants with the parts he chooses from these options. It will be exactly as requested upon delivery/pick-up.

Option C: The Whole Monty, $7000
With this option, you get everything I have for the R1. This includes everything on this consolidated list in addition to the bike and all stock parts. I have highlighted parts that are not included in Options A or B:

Performance:
*LadyBird Titanium MotoGP Pipe w/Akrapovic Titanium Midpipe
*Scorpion Scorched Titanium High-Mount Slip-On

With this option, you have just about anything you could want or need with the bike. I will also include the stands as mentioned before, an HJC CL-14 Tribal helmet in medium that is black, red, and silver, and an Alpinestars T-Venom Jacket in XXL (WAY to big for me now) that is a sun-faded red and black.

I am willing to deliver the bike anywhere within 75 miles of me for free. Any farther than that, and I will deliver for $1 per mile one way. I will also work with any shipping company the buyer selects and encourage local pick-up but, in the end, shipping is up to the buyer. The title of the bike is clear, yet I still owe about $2000 on it. This will be paid off at time of sale and I will mail the new owner the lein release with the clear title coming directly from my bank (Navy Federal Credit Union) immediately after.

Here are a couple of pictures with most of my favorite aftermarket parts installed:

A couple with the Scorpion pipe and the black fairings and dark smoke windscreen to give you an idea of what each look like on the bike:

...Continuation due to too many pictures for one post...

And finally one of the bike at the February 23, 2008 Track Day at MSR-Houston with race glass:

If the bike sells for Option A or Option B, I will be selling the remaining parts separately. Until the bike sells, however, I am not selling ANY of the parts I have for the bike. When the bike sells, if I have parts left over, I will create a new thread listing the parts and prices shipped anywhere in the US so keep an eye out.

If there are ANY questions about this bike, if you would like more detailed photographs, or would like to come by and look at it please don't hesitate to post here, PM me, email me at BudArnold@gmail.com, or call me at 361-701-5807. There are quite a few members on this forum that can attest to my level of care for this bike so you won't be disappointed. Also if there is anything I forgot to mention please feel free to ask and I will answer promptly. I am VERY motivated to sell the bike and start building my next one, but am FIRM on my prices. Thanks!

Sorry guys, no dibs being taken on anything until the bike is sold. I will post another thread with all the parts I have left over for the bike once this one does it's job. I will post the link for that parts for sale thread in this one if that happens. Until then, no dibs on anything but the motorcycle itself and whatever the potential buyer wants to include with that.

Damn you and your ethics!
Good luck with the sale, it's a good deal with all the options, especially with riding season getting into gear.

...and good luck to me with the Ladybird pipe....
