You got the answer and a side order of opinions of steering damper use.

That much of a change in geometry is not recommended. It will make the bike twitchy and unstable.

And yes, a damper will help negate some instability and headshake, some don't believe it a good idea to intentionally deviate from having the chassis set up properly and to count on a damper to correct the situation.
