Kickstand question
This might be one of those topics you guys are tired of reading about but...I can't find a good thread on the subject. I have ran over my kickstand a couple of times (I know it's a stupid mistake but I was use to my CBR that would cut off if the kickstand was down when I shifted into 1st gear)
I bought this R1 used and soon found out that the guy before me somehow disconnected it. When I look at it I can't see any obvious signs of tampering. It looks like it is a piston or plundger that when depressed allows you to shift into first. Well on my bike it doesn't have to be. I can shift into first and drive off, then run over my kickstand.
It's a little bent but no damage to the aluminum mounting bracket. I would like to get this function back until my dumb a$$ can remember to kick it up.
Any help would be great. I'll give you bonus points for finding the thread I am looking for. I tried 4 different searches and cruised through the first 6 pages on a "kickstand" search...Lots for sale.
