V-Strom Oem Pannier Bolted to R1 Passenger Seat

Some old lady backed into my dads V-Strom at the grocery store awhile back. Everything that was scratched was paid in full by her insurance company. He gave me the side box since he didnt have any use for it anymore. I bought an extra passenger seat off here for 10 bucks. Now I'm going to bolt them together and blamo, instant grocery getter! Yeah, ill have to use a blow dryer and peel the letters off.

nice dude, been talking to my buddy to fab up a rack bolted into a spare passenger seat for more touring type purposes for a while. seems like a solid idea that's easy enough to implement. just carry the spare seat in the extra baggage and if you want to do any local riding just take off the rack/baggage and toss on the empty seat and you're done.

Theres a thread on here somewhere, but i cant find it for the life of me. A guy with an earlier model r1 built a luggage rack and bolted it right to his seat. You seem to have a knack for finding old threads, any ideas. It was an all white 99-01 and the rack was welded up with square tubing... im trying to figure out how exactly he bolted them together.


Edit:i I think i have found it. However, the pics are not working for me. All i see are question marks.
