My old '85 Honda VT250 had dual front calipers.
Also my 93 Suzuki RGV250.

Manufacturers take global markets into consideration when developing bikes. 250 cc affects license and also with the new EU license scheme, I'm sure all that will be taken into consideration.
Moto3 has gone 250 as well so it will be interesting to see if Yamaha develops one for the championship as well.

I should have been more specific...current 250cc in the US market.

yah we're talking old school engineering on both those cases... yah know... back when bikes weighed a tonne!... i'm sure breaking technology has hopped ahead nicely in the last 20-30 years.!..

Atleast Moto3 is open to any engine manufacture. They really need to open up Moto2, who wants to route for the honda? So stupid.......

The VT, I totally agree with. But the RGV is a very light bike and the brakes have floating discs and are on par with anything today imo.

honda already has a 70mpg bike that isnt a sitting target on the road. way ahead of all other manufacturers. nc700x

Ever ride the fzr250rr from the late 80s early 90s? Phwoaaarrrr redline at 20krpm!!! had a little R2 painted on the ducktail of my mate's old one... was cute, but the thing actually did hammer if u kept it above 12krpm
