Ya know, ever since Frank mentioned- where were the kids at when she knocked on the door.......Jason, this does sound like the scenario. It makes more sense.
I cannot believe I'm agreeing with you.

And held on to that tree for a "few hours" until she decided to look for help.

Give til it hurts is the mantra of the church I go to. I know I seem callous and grumpy most of the time but I'm really not. I think that many look at Kirk the same way. Yes, were both set in our ways and don't mince words with fools. It doesn't mean we're heartless, just wary. When I teach First Aid to the scouts or Scuba students, I always teach that safety is first and foremost. If you get hurt helping someone today, you may not get a chance to help many more people later on. Self preservation is the moral and right thing to do.

It's ok Kim, my wife feels the same way when she finally lets go of her emotions and let logic dictate her agreement with me.

The moral of the story, the news cast got it's wish and the people are stirred up and wanting blood. If the guy gets arrested or killed, then they get to report that as well.

100% agree! It's the scenario that makes the most sense.
The mother is at fault in so many ways but I just can't see those kids staying in the car or hugging a tree during that kind of storm. LOL Kids don't stay still when there is NO hurricane. If the mother ran up the house like she said, most kids would have followed her up there.
Secondly - what was that homeowner thinking going on camera like that? NOTHING good will ever come from that. CNN practically nailed that guy to a cross.
