I'm glad you guys finally got power back. I went up to visit my parents in north jersey yesterday and the whole situation was much worse up there. Trees still down and cleanup crews were working yesterday. Roads closed. Long lines for gas, etc.
Down here things are much better. I think we were back to normal after one or two days.

i ride my cruiser in the cold weather most of the time. heated grips and good gloves with wind deflectors makes it easy to ride.

I rode saturday and it got chilly after an hour. Riding in cold weather is all about the gear.

yeah im still working on finding a new car, going to check out another one later today and hopefully the thing is nice, though i saw one yesterday thats a little rough but is in decent shape other than having 184k on it. but for now im back to riding as my daily again my right hand gets so damned cold i cant feel it at times, my left hand i can atleast put in the gap of the fairings and warm it up with the engine heat.

try wearing ski gloves. they are a little clumsy but I've used them before. You can also get inexpensive grip warmers from bike bandit that work good.

Glad you guys are doing alright. I spent that weekend in PA, but no damage or power outage around me. At least next to nothing.

Ok, guys looking for some general info, especially from anyone near Ft Drum. What is housing and utilities like up there, plus are there and major gun laws and possible dog laws that I would have to worry about? I am looking things up as there might be a position up there opening up for me so I am trying to do a little background info searching first. Also, what about tracks and riding season?

I'm not from that area but that far north the riding season will be much shorter especially comparing to texas.

not sure about gun laws or dog laws, but i think dog laws over there arent going to be strict meaning im sure you can have dogs and walk them with a leash and also have updated shots. the new New York Safety Track is going to be opening soon. i think it might be like a 3-4 hour drive from ft drum. if not that, then you have NJMP. not sure of any others

I use a pair of FirstGear Kilimanjaro gloves for the cold, feel like sport gloves and cheap ($45 or so) not bulky at all,but I'm sure not the warmest either, but they work well for control feel vs. allout warmth.
