Back to this. I'm now considering an 05 more because of what's available and how everything is priced. Some ok priced 06-07s out in CA but have their defects whether be salvage, miles, rash and what not... meaning they could be priced better. Any other pros and cons between gens?

Obviously the R6V is a slimmer, more nimble chasis, but when you are talking track days, the S type seems to have more comfortable ergo's. The bike feels planted and stable in my opinion. A good suspension setup and you can flick it easily. The lower end allows ou to more easily power out of turns. The V type is so much more aggressive at the top end, that you have to keep it revved to have any torque. I think the S inspires more confidence quickly and is a bit more rider friendly for beginning. You can concentrate more on technique immediatley.

Thanks Steve, you the man. There's an 03 right now tracked out and hopefully it's still around in two weeks. Usually good stuff pops up when I'm not around to take advantage of things. There's a couple more options to follow so I'll just have to wait and find out.
