They may charge less for a motorcycle specific event also......or add riders to it. If you had 50 riders it seems way more reasonable then.

Of course they will charge less for motorcycles LOL. Everyone does. Harris hill is much more for cars then bikes. Two different animals. However, if they can fill the weekends with cars and make 2x the money why deal with bikes? That is what I would worry about. Or fill it with music events, etc. I'm sure they will charge normal rates it sounds like, but I'm pretty confident they will fill up the events that bring the most profits first and then move down to the events that they can't charge as much for.

I did an open trackday at Jennings in Feb. once where there was more than 50 riders on the track in all sessions. There were A class riders coming down to prep for bike week, finding out that the track had already filled up for A and dropping down to INT or even BEG, I dont think any session that day didnt end with a red flag.

Im really worried about going this weekend because of this exact reason. Not because of testing and racers, but just a huge weekend in general. If there are that many riders I will be super pissed.
When i did PBIR and Daytona there was 50+ riders each session. Getting a good lap was impossible

I've ridden with a TD org that did some shit like that. I left at noon the first day because we kept getting red flagged. Idiots weren't coming close to following passing rules, etc. It was a clusterfvck to say the least.

Holy crap...for $2000 I would risk breaking into the facility with the 24 other people and make them catch me going around the track.

Just got an email, Ridesmart is doing trackdays there for $460 per day....I bet there will be 50 people per group
Quote:
Ride Smart at Circuit of The Americas!!
That's right, Ride Smart will be at
Circuit of The Americas
June 1 and 2, 2013
Sign up begins December 20, 2012
$460
per DAY!
We anticipate registration will go quick.
We have arranged a slightly different format to accommodate demand for
Circuit of The Americas in that we will be offering two Level 2 groups, as traditionally Level 2 fills the quickest (there is no difference in the two L2 groups). All groups are capped low for your enjoyment on the 3.4 mile, 20 turn track.
4 Groups
Level 1
Level 2A
Level 2B
Level 3
In order to make sure that everyone receives the same time on track as a normal Ride Smart trackday, you will be running 20 minute sessions, starting at 8:00am and going until 6:30pm with a lunch break.
Saturday, June 1st will also feature our Advanced Riders Course in Level 3.
In addition to the bike cam footage, critique and advanced riding instruction
there will be an emphasis on "Line Building Techniques" during this class.
We are also offering a 50/50 registration.
Put down 50% now and we'll hold your spot, you can pay the remainder by February 25, 2013 (plus a $20 service fee).
Registration opens December 20, 2012 at 12:01 am.
See our website for additional information about Ride Smart.
No refunds, account credits, or cancellations allowed. Transfers to other persons allowed.
All 50/50 payments must be completed and paid in full by 2/25/2013 or the initial payment will be forfeited.
No discounts, coupons, codes, or other incentives allowed.

$460/day isn't that bad. Probably not too far off what they charge at Laguna. I think I'll wait and see how it goes there. Maybe next fall.

I stopped riding with them, never felt safe. I wasn't joking about 50 people, I could easily see that

Exactly why I said I'd wait and see. If they do a shit job running it I'm sure some other org would come in to take a shot. Maybe NESBA can come in. They already do NOLA.
