Toce Bros for 2011 R1
just bought new 2011 for $9200 plus 399 destination, no doc or setup fees. Looking at getting Toce Bros slip ons. Read on forum a lot of haters of anything that is not Akropovic, Graves or M4. 2 Bros and others are discouraged by many. What i don't read is any specifics on what they don't like about these. My take, exhausts are pretty simple. They change the sound, and open up the back pressure to varying degrees. I have 2 bros on my '07 R1 and love them. Sound is awesome. None are going to give more than a couple hp at best. To me, it really comes to sound and looks, and the Toce slip ons seem like what i want. Detractors? Why not Toce (specifically)?

Was actually thinking about getting the toce as well. I believe the general "hating" has more to do with the fact that toce, two brothers and other exhausts aren't necessarily considered "race-spec," and since the majority of the members on here are into that scene more than anything else, they become inadvertently shunned.
Also, the more expensive race-type exhausts offer more than just a couple horsepower, more like four or five, some even boast nearly ten. This is primarily the reason.
But hey, I'd slap on a toce set. I think they're cool.

I don't mind any exhaust, any aftermarket exhaust sounds better than stock. I personally don't like the look of the TOCE but definitely not going to hate on someone for having something i don't like.
If its in your budget,go for it champ.

I think they look like shit personally. Cheap and heavy. But to each his own.

I can't seem to find anything concrete on positive gains to be had, however I'm not saying they don't exist. They claim to be a few pounds lighter than stock. From what I can see, they seem to be a well-sorted company that delivers a good quality product. They are obnoxiously loud and their look is definitely eccentric.
Two Bros on the other hand, has been known to have shoddy service and the quality of their products are subpar. A lot of the carbon I've seen is starting fade and clear coat starting to yellow, and a lot faster than others. I've heard that gains are fractional to those had by the reputable, quality brands (ie. Graves, Akra, LeoV, etc.). I know of two people personally that have had their canisters explode on them, packing coming out and everything.
If you want Toce, most people here will give you poop, do with your bike what you want. Now if you want Two Bros? I'd highly suggest against it, I'm biased as I'm sure some love it, but I've seen/heard enough to put me off it.

Neither 2 brothers nor toce are really performance based. But if you aren't into the race/track scene and you like the look of them, then by all means get what you want.

When it comes to slip ons, I don't see how two brothers is any worse than most other companies. Not to mention they offer a full ti system with collectors, etc. Not my brand, but I would be willing to bet all of the conventionally styled, free flowing slip ons dyno within 1-2hp of each other.

Not only looks, but sound should play a factor in your purchase. And of course, the all important question. How much $$$ you want to drop on the exhaust? Good luck and enjoy whatever you get.

I had the Toce Pipes... Loved them, but you can't ride wit a passenger... They stick out just as far as the factory pipes but don't have a heat shield to protect the passengers ankles... If you not riding with a passenger, I say go for it... They sound and look great to me, but its you choice...

This was before I painted it...
