I'm just saying. Personally, if I had the choice between a cheap rifle that shot like crap and not having one at all, I would save my money.

Has to be a compromise between dirt cheap and 3-4k though.

There are. I'm not interested in the 3k-4k rifles anyway cause I need to continue to get experience and practice. That kind of high end rig would be a waste on me. I'd be happy with a used LMT308 which can be had at or just below 2k.

I'd drop low $ on the cheap rifle, then post all over the internet that it's a POS when it doesn't live up to my high $ expectations.

There is, and Frank's statement is valid all the way from the dirt cheap to the 3-4K. How much money you want to spend is how much gun you're gonna get. How much gun do you want? ..... knowing that is half the game.

I agree, for someone asking what the OP did in the manner he did, an out of the box rifle would most likely be more than sufficient

All this talk about calibers and specific manufacturers, which is best, which is not, etc reminds me of some geardo or mall ninja waxing poetic about "dem gunz".
It's all subjective cause folks have their own opinions. As far as I know, there is only two guys here that I would trust with talk about calibers, grains, trajectory, etc and that is Jason and Josh.

exactly. that's why I originally implied it was way too wide open of a question, and us telling him what brands, models, etc... don't help him solve anything, especially if he doesn't know the first damn thing about them, but is relying on a bunch of internet warrior hearsay.

You selfish bastages, what if i have the same question and and you keep it to yourselves?
FYI if you buy an LWRC with a 14.7 bbl with pinned and welded flash hider and want to change the flash hider LWRC will only charge $60 to replace it. Just make sure it's long enough to cover the 16" oal requirement.
Boom see fuggers I don't have a problem with sharing info
