7.62x39mm in AR FTW! <3 my bushy!
But really, I would love a 6.8 but I don't even have enough time to shoot what I do have!

It's a shorty 10mm. 10mm = awesome. 40S&W= mehhhh. .40 is a mirror of everything we do now: Give me mediocrity or give me death!

Shoot them in the pinky toe first then you'll have a moving target to fine tune your aim.

Pretty much, I remember when the Feebs switched to the 40 because they were using 147g 9mm's instead of good ammo. The ballistics sucked so they dropped the 9mm and the 40 was born.

10 Monster Muncher. When you shoot someone or something with it, they stay shot.

Isn't the 10mm still somewhat of a specialty round or rather not widely produced?

It's still fringe, but it's easy to find components for nowadays. The brass used to be seasonal, it's pretty common now.

40 is an outstanding round, especially in 135 grain. 9mm is great in +p, so is .45. 10mm is great too.
I am partial to .357sig myself and IMO its the best semi-auto caliber. Massive speed and energy. Great thing about .40 weapons is they also shoot sig with a barrel swap. Been shooting .357sig for almost 17 years.

Shot placement is more important than caliber. Anything above a 32 will do the job if placed properly. There is no such thing as overkill in a gun fight.

faster and higher energy is only great if the round doesn't go thru the person/target. If the bullet goes in one side and out the other and keeps traveling, it still has plenty of energy. therefore the target didn't get the fully effect of the bullet.
This is why I like 45acp. heavy and slow. when that round hits a person, it usually doesn't go thru them. they get all 400ft/lbs of that 230gr round transfered into their torso. Lay down. Die.

The only caveat to that is that Thoracic cavity shock is what stops people in their tracks.

I never carried a 230gr in mine. Wanted something with better expansion capabilities.
Hornady 185gr .45ACP Critical Defense
Of course, the argument of ballistics will never end. Point being, use what you're comfortable with and will do the job with a well place shot.

I've been on hand to test 230g +p+ HST federal and 181g+p god dot. It really didn't matter, they both stopped within an inch of each other and expansion was similar. 230 grain did much better on deflection tests.
