It's a heavier round (230gr), so it would do better on deflection. I've not seen a 230gr round available here except if it's round point ball ammo.

I ordered a 50 rd box of .45 230gr +p HST from SG Ammo for $44.95 shipped. That's cheaper than the 165gr Hydra-Shoks from Walmart. The S&W manual says to never shoot +p+ in any S&W handgun.

The only thing the S&W manual says about +p is to not use it in any K frame revolver manufactured prior to 1950-something (misplaced the manual).
It does say that it may cause premature wear but I don't intend to use it for target practice except just a few to see how different it shoots.

That is fairly common. .45 pistols have two rounds, older pistols are not designed for the auto or acp rounds due to pressures and such. At least that is my understanding

Exactly. I can't count how many shooting reports I've read where it was a one round affair with 357 due to shock.
.357sig doesn't over penetrate either. If you've ever taken a course where you shoot cars or through barriers, it's a real eye opener as to which rounds do the best job. Give me 357mag or 357sig any day of the week.
And the main benefit of this caliber is how flat it shoots, IE extremely accurate. I'm more accurate with it than 32, .38, 9, 10, 45, 40, etc, etc.

For whatever reason, though, .357sig is losing popularity in recent years and there is becoming less and less ammo and gun models being mfr'd for it. The fact that people inherently don't believe it performs (and actually outperforms) as well as it does against the same bullet in .357 mag loads has to be, IMO, part of why it is sliding backwards. That, and lazy reloaders don't like necked pistol cartridges.

I came across this while looking for some optics. Guy claims to have been an Infantryman for 6 years. 3 sights seem like a bit of overkill IMHO.

A few reasons in addition. Ammo cost is up there, less to choose from with HP ammo and the availability isn't there.

The case was $198.97 with free 2 day shipping from Amazon. It's really nice, definitely meets expectations. Now I gotta start cutting foam.
