Damn that blackout on the 02 looks good. Did you use nightshade on the headlights? Gonna do the same for the 03?

Actually those are just the lens covers. I wanted to see how bright the lights would be before I used the nightshade on them just in case I found out it was to dark, saved me the possibility of buying another light assembly. With the stock bulbs their not bright enough but when I upgraded to the HID kit I had no problem with the brightness through the covers. As for the 03 haven't decided what I wanna do with it yet, but I do know for sure if I end up with the blacked out lights I will be using the nightshade this time.

This thread needs a revival...
The other night I did my final wash of the year, put some stabil in the tank, and put her away for the winter. It sucks but now I get to start on my winter mods.

Yeah the cold weather sucks. I'm holding out until we get snow. Being originally from L.A. its hard getting used to not being able to ride year round. Pulling the good from the bad is the fact that we can do things we want to the bike during the down time.

I actually bought the bike with the wheels already done. I'm not sure what the previous owner used to do them. I did take scotch pads to them when I got it to clean them up a bit but that's about it.
I thought you were selling yours though.

Where did you get your mirrors at? Are they real carbon fiber or just replica stuff?

well im not 100% sure im selling... im more testing waters and seeing what offers i receive. the only reason i even have the notion of selling is because im prolly moving back east to bama or tenn and im one of those guys that feels a bike should be ridden year round and if it sits in a garage its not fair... so i would want someone who would completely appreciate it not neglect it a couple months every year lol
but if i did keep it... i was thinking about it

Keep it. Mine is sitting inside, stored away right now with the battery on the tender. As soon as spring comes, I'll be back out on it. It probably makes me enjoy riding that much more since I can't do it year round.

Thanks for the compliment
Here's a full shot of her I took today. As far as a newer model, I'm not really interested in another R1, what I would consider is a retro cafe style bike, possibly British or Italian

Um, I suppose for a first post this is where I should start.
Picked her up in 08 with a blown stator and some stupid mirrors on it
she was covered in filth and had been abused, but she still fired up like a champ
sat in storage for a few years because of marriage issues
Got a divorce and decided to fix her up like I wanted to when I got it.
after working on her for about a summer in my spare time this is where she's at.
