clear isn't as big of deal as the base coat when it comes to durability and color duration. it gives you a fill color option when sanding off clears for small surface repairs. that's the way i've always looked at it at least. some others will argue that it's all about the clear the repairing the clear, but once you eat through the clear, you're f*cked on a minimal color coat.

well that's more or less what i'm saying, if you go a heavy base, it's harder to infiltrate the original color instead of just respraying clear.

Well after doing some research Ive found many threads on others forums saying how great Formula 1 Composies bodywork is. Some have even crash on them and say they held up great. Others say that for the money its a geat deal and that is even better than Hotbodies. Heres a link to one of them. Looks i know what im getting for christmas. LOL... http://highperformancecrew.com/showthread.php?t=20411

I see you left your kickstand on. Did you have to modify the belly or did it fit where you can still use the kickstand?

Tad, I thought all of this was appropriate to your build since its the same body work Lemme kno if you want me to delete the posts or something
Anyway, here is the only pic I still have of what I cut out. Where you can see the wire/rod in the background on the bench is where I started the cut. You can see where it starts to leave the angle contour of the rest of the pan It's smoother now, it was just a "in progress" photo I sent Z06 the see what he thought

Thanks. I will probably have a really crooked cut if I do it myself. But thanks for the reference of where I need to cut.

I was thinking about removing that but decided to keep it since I am always loading and unloading the bike alone.
