I decided years ago, probably more like a decade ago, to slow down in the twisties and never run above 7/10ths. I had just spent a heap of time at the track and it made me much faster in my local twistys. Suddenly I was leaning more, going harder out of corners, etc. One day I was at the utter limit of traction coming out of a 2nd gear corner. I had my RC dialed in and got small patch of grass with the rear and it was early AM so there was dew. Bike starts to slide and I still don't know how but I rode it out. Was almost completely sideways for a moment. I rode out of that, rode to the gas station, got off the bike an had an epiphany. I had been down twice prior and I luckily escaped this one. At that moment I chilled out, rode within certain limits and it's been happy days for the last 10 years. I lead my rides, go slow in, fast out, and always ride at the PACE and everything is great.
If you don't have the discipline to ride within certain boundaries sell the damn bike immediately. These things aren't meant for everyone. Literbikes, or even 600's take judicious application of the throttle on the street and some people just can't control themselves. I'd rather sandbag a little and ride the rest of my life instead of pushing it at every opportunity to end up the pine box way too early.

Keep the bike. And like Petrol said....take it to the track. You'll change your mind about street riding.

Then slow down on the streets so you can still enjoy the MC. I've been riding streets my entire life, there is no way i'd ever give it up.
