As long as you are ready, you're good. It was the first go round with this bag and it was rated pretty well. 20 degrees for a synthetic fill = 30 maybe 35 in real life. The bigger the pad, the better the insulation. My current pad is getting handed down and I'm getting a better pad. Thermarest Neo lite. I was ok til early morning.

Duuuude, I was about to give you a call on this, maybe ill call you on my way back home tomorrow. PJ did give me a few pointers as well.
I'm looking to get one of these 3 bikes.
Ducati 1199
Ducati 1198
KTM Rc8r
I'll give the v-twin a try for a while, I bet they are more fun.

I'm looking a 2 bikes at the moment, one is in NY and the other in Florida. Since i've never bought a used bike from a private party before (always a new bike @ dealerships), I didnt know what I need to be looking for and what stuff I need to be aware of.

Of those, I'd go KTM. The 1198's are sorted but having issues with valve train depending on the manufacture date. 1199's are still in the first year recall stage.

you seriously want to go from wadding up a 12k bike to wadding up a 30k bike? Or are you going to get a track bike as well?

6 teaches you more about speed and how to make it happen. big motors make lazy riders.

not really you can get all the 3 options for under 20k, the ktm is 14.5k new and the panigale at 17.5k.
I made the mistake of going to the local dealership last month, now I cant get that panigale out of my mind.
Hands down its the best looking bike ever. the MV gets a close second.
The ktm is more of a love it or hate it style. I cant make up my mind. The sides and the tail is freaking gorgeous, the headlight is just buzz kill. Ugliest one ive ever seen.

I still do want to get a used r6 just for the track. The way I look at it is that I need a lighter bike, these twins weigh almost as much as an r6 and deliver a lot more.

hmm, haha every dude in this squad is all track oriented I blame chris for it.
I'm one of those guys who just ride on the street and want a flashy bike I don't track often (just been on 2 so far) I still love the street. - not saying that you can't highside on the street.

You do street riding still? Or, plan to track only?
I'm really undecided if I want to get back on the street. Being that I'm single again, I'm getting the itch for touring...
