Was an awesome day at COTA. Only thing that kinda sucks is that most everything is on the outside of the track so there is a LOT of walking. Tons of fans were there today for the first practice. Way more then Indy on MotoGP race day I would say. These cars are blistering loud. One of these cars and you wouldn't be able to hear the entire pack of MotoGP bikes go by. Stupid fast cars in the corners too. The straights they are quick, but the corners are ungodly fast. TV doesn't even do it justice.

I'm excited to see the practices when I get off work. Caught a second of it, boy it looked like a green track. Hopefully they can lay enough rubber down to improve grip by race day.

rex did you see a lot of passing and stuff at T11? That is where we plan on going tomorrow. Looks like a lot of action can/will happen going into the turn and then out of the turn and onto the straight.

Yup, bunch of people locking brakes, you can see the hand gesture after the Red Bull car passed that guy in the last pic. Same thing in the second pic of the locked up tires. Definitely going to be some passing and people blowing the braking coming in here I'd recommend it, we hung out on the grass berm for a few minutes and its an excellent view

Will have to try and go next year. Now that the 4 wheels have hit the track what do you think of the prospects for gp in april?

Going to be fun, honestly it was very well organized and a complete success if you ask me. Well thought out and a world class race track I feel lucky that Austin got this and everyone came through

All of the racers were even saying it's by far one of the best tracks if not the best track they have been on. Super technical. We went to turn 19 today and it was off the charts...
It was a huge success for sure. No doubt about it COTA did a great job!!!!

This track is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
I've never seen anything like that before (and I've watched hundreds of races on tv).
The onboard view around with all the ups and downs was mindblowing!!!
I'd love to ride my bike there!!!!!!
That must be a blast riding through the 'Esses' (corners between grandstand 2-10)
YEHAHAHAH

I gotta hand it to 'em, after all the politics and bs that went on with this place, it's monumental that they got it finished in time AND pulled off the weekend without any major hitches. They must have dumped serious jack into getting there after all the delays and problems. Looked incredible on TV.
