I hope I'm not opening myself up here for asking a douche question.
With that said, what are you guys typically using the phones for on the bike itself? I've seen these threads in the past, but have never paid attention to them. I'd assume GPS/route mapping, but that's just a guess. Are there any significant benefits to mounting a phone to the bike? Thanks!

I use it for mainly GPS. But since I have my Scala rider headset paired with my phone, when somebody calls, I can see who's calling by glancing Down at the phone for a second.
Also, when the phone is in your pocket and it buckets down, chance of it getting wet and damaged.

I use mine for gps mainly but like to stream over bluetooth to my helmet. A plus with that is voice navigation comes in your helmet and you dont need to look down.
I have used the Trackmaster app with the split times voiced into my helmet. I messed up the first time i did it and put waaaay too many splits on the track through the app. I niw only do 3 to 4 and it helps pick up time to the next section.

I was thinking the same thing, so don't worry about it.
How, if at all, do you guys provide power to the phones when on the bike? I know that my Atrix2 wouldn't last too long running GPS, maps and streaming bluetooth while I'm riding.

Normal 12v outlet up front and you can use the car charger or they make the bmw type two prong twist so it wont move.

I do sell the ball mount. But like I said, I only imported them to Sydney Australia to sell to fellow riders. But you can still buy direct from the eBay link posted.

Sorry I just saw this post.
It's a 3 piece kit, ball with bolt that fastens to inside of the centre stem, case and adaptor plate to mount onto case and secure to ball.
And I charge mine via running a female cigarete lighter charger, and got a USB charger with iPhone sync cable running up to the case.
