That is a beast man, very nice custom job. Your carbon work is amazing, as is the rest of the bike!

So I took the bike to the scales today to see how much it weighs. I was a bit stunned when I was told it weighed 360lbs. I don't know what regular R1 weighs, but I'm super happy with what mine weighs now

I have a 2001 R1 and I believe it is 385 dry, IIRC. Well, done! Not a street-fighter guy myself, but very good work on this.

thanks, sonicslp.
I always wonder why companies tell you the dry weight of a bike. You can't ride a bike with it's dry weight. Put all the fluids in it and gas it up, then put it on the scales. Is dry weight even with a battery in it? lol

Because it sounds so much better for the company being lighter.

Yeah, then when you actually weigh your bike in running conditions, it probably weighs 40-50punds more than that fancy dry weight they tell you

Made a new exhaust protoype to get a different sound. I love how it sounds, the rumble at idle. Now I can make a nicer looking one with the same chambers inside

It was a lot of work, but I'm very happy with how it turned out. There are couple of things I might do to it over the winter...

So I went to the harvest classic bike show this fall and put my bike in the show, they have a class for modern or custom bikes there. The discovery channel was there too, shooting some footage for Jesse James' Outlaw garage.
There is a clip of that episode on Discovery channel. Funny, how of all the bikes there at the harvest classic show, they show my bike the longest on that clip. Jesse James rode his Ducati Desmosidici to the rally. That is a sweet looking and sounding bike
http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/ou...st-classic.htm
My bike is at 2min48sec into the clip
