Please explain all the suspension settings

Can someone explain preload, compression dampening and rebound dampening? What each setting changes? A lil lost

Click on search button in top righ hand corner and search suspension 101. Full of all the answers you seek. Also there is a video by Keith Code on YouTube that shows you how to dial in your suspension.
