Hey OP I have a minty blue tail if youre interested btw...

Those headlights I linked(changed link ) were under $150 and OEM.
And that was a perty Vortex racing fairing stay for cheap.
OP, moral of the story, if you LOOK for some deals, you'll find them.

Is it just me or does it seem R1's don't crash very well?

When "they" invent a bike that DOES crash well, I'll be the first in line.

Just seems like some crash better then others. Also seems like the lighter they keep getting the worse they crash.

Crashing is completely situational.
I took a spill at 50mph and all I needed was some side fairings and a nose. Cost me less than 350$ and she was shiny again

My estimate would be $1,500 for all OEM replacement parts.
There is a lot of damaged parts. Nobody mentioned mirrors, or the rear fairing, plus a few other parts that have not been mentioned. The pics don't do justice.
I'd say closer to 2 grand in damage. That's to restore it to the way it was before the accident.
$1k would be a 1/2 ass restoration. Shit cost money. If you don't care what it looks like, then it don't matter.
If there is any frame damage, the bike would have to be completely stripped, and the frame sent to a frame specialist to be put on a jig to check the frame geometry.

To the peeps that said $1k, y'all are trippin. There are a lot of damaged parts
I'm not even going to bother adding everything up, I'm not that gung ho, but this is a minimum of two grand to restore it to the way it was before.
At least the OP's leg is ok, that's the main thing.

Give me the list of parts you think he needs replaced so I can throw some parts links at ya and I'll bet you that $2000 that it won't cost him $2000 to "restore" his bike.

Glad you're ok! Take it easy, you have all winter to put it back together. The 05 is a great year and there are TONS of parts out there for it. Getting in a hurry will cost you more in the long run.

What part of "the pics don't do justice" do you not understand?
There is a lot of damage to that bike. I'll bet almost every piece of body work has damage.
Once you start taking parts off, I guarantee you will discover more and more damage. It's a numbers game. Did you even notice the engine covers are scraped?
You obviously are not talking about restoring it to the way it looked pre-accident. The OP can do whatever he want's, I really don't care. Like I said, there are many, many damaged parts on that bike, it all adds up. I restore cars and bikes. I'm not going to argue about it.
The OP is okay, I'm done here.
Peace out.

Those headlights you linked on the first page have broken tabs that hook into the fairing stay, unless OP can fabricate something I dont think they would work too good.
reason I know is cause I saw those on ebay too since i have to replace mine also lololol

Easy killa. Not trying to seem like a know-it-all here, but I literally just got through putting a mangleddd 09 r1 back together. I know what the OEM and aftermarket parts ran for that newer bike. So I have a pretty good idea of what they will run for the OP's bike.
I'm well aware there will be those few "unexpected" parts the OP will need, but darn, lets not scare the shit out of him by making him think he'll have to take out a loan to fix his bike.
There are three ways to "restore" the bike.
1.Back to 100% OEM
2. All aftermarket parts
3. A mix of both
Since we don't know which of those nor do we know the exact parts list, we don't know how much he'll spend.
He COULD get it done for under $1000(based off of those few pictures) or he OCULD spend thousands between new OEM and high-end aftermarket parts.
SO, the OP should figure out exactly what he needs to get this bike like HE wants it, and then we can all rack our brains on prices.

I didn't even look at the description. haha. Just a general point to be made. My last post is more "to the point". But good point.

Hey OP, glad you're ok man.. What i would do is.... cry like a little bitch... it's the day i dread, but still glad your ok. Is your rev counter stuck at 2k? it looks like it in the pic. That would be a concern seeing that clocks could be pricey, esp this side of the pond, but you guys would no better on pricing. If you can wire them back in and turn on ignition just to make sure... that's waht i would do... good luck

Sides are 265 x 2 with all the rest of the parts that he'll need with it.
Lowers 165 x 2
Upper 160
Stay 190
ram air tubes 200
headlights 250
tail 210
that's $1900 already, and there's plenty of parts to go. I agree, this will go >$2K all day long if he truly "restores" it. Not to mention this thing's got a FIAT graphics package........not sure what the cost is for any of that, or how it was available OEM for a 2004.

it will be cheaper to make it into a track bike since you dont have to get headlights and oem fairings. get some race fairings and it will be good. but if you dont do track then do it back to street
