When the rest of us are putting them up, you can shoot for days. I'm going to get the wife her own gun for Christmas. I'm not for sure which one yet.

My next house will have a 100y rifle bay and a 30 yard pistol bay. It's all on paper, just gotta get the kids out of school and it's a done deal. The only part of this house that will be wood is the floors and trim. It will be poured walls to 6' and poured block above that. Steel truss roof with steel sheet roof. It will also be a Zero House. 180k builds it. 30k for solar power, 5k for the range and outbuilding. 15k for the garage.

One of the guys at the gun shop is in the excavating business. He's the current Central Indiana High Power NRA state champ for F-class. He build one at his house and I've seen it. About as slick as it gets. Ran a 36" concrete drainage tile from the side of his basement to his mini barn. Built a basement in his minibarn where the there is a bullet trap built as well as a target holder. He shoots from his basement to his minibarn, 100 yards away. Trick setup, as well as a neat escape route.

I wasn't talking about the guns, but more the officers who would wake up not knowing what happened the night prior with an empty mag.

This was before they had magazines. His gun and speedloaders were empty.

Got some Frog Lube samples to try out. Stuff is supposed to be the bomb, I tried some on an AR a while back, going to try some more things. LA police gear had a sale going. Got Blackhawk pants for 25.99 a pair as well as a few other things. Backup optics for the REPR should be here tomorrow.

I use the break free CLP, have for years. The stuff won't carbon up and leaves grim and dirt soluble for cleaning. Damn stuff is magic. There's another thing on the market I'm going to try next. G96 gun treatment. Been highly recommended by my dealer, I used some of his on a used gun to clean it up. Worked really well to bring back an old colt. Not sure about it's heat properties in AR's.

Hey Meister, being that you seem to be the gun guru around here, figured I'd get your opinion on a small situation at my local gun shop.
Obviously I live in NY, where it takes for-fcuking-ever to get your pistol permit. I went and did all my paperwork, then sat back and waited. Long story short, I got bored and wanted a new rifle, so I went to my local shop, who told me they'd have a Sig Sauer M400E FDE in within two weeks. So I put my deposit down, and waited, however now it's been 6 months and they're d*cking me around with where the rifle is. I also sold them a bunch of .50 cal rounds towards it, so all-in-all they owe me $300. It's been long enough that now I finally have my permit, and I'm thinking of just putting the money towards a pistol, so what's the best I can do for ~$500, chambered in a .45, that's good for concealed carry? I'm very partial towards 1911 frames, but am not terribly picky, just not a huge glock fan-boy.
TL;DR: Help me pick out a .45 for concealed-carry

The springfield XDS seems to be getting rave reviews from many guys these days. A sub compact 1911 might work too, but the price is out of reach for you. Find a new dealer too, the one you have sucks donkey balls.
