Just a simple wine rack or more of a open cabinet type wine rack? IMO, most of the simple criss-cross wine racks look like crap by themselves, but if it's built into an open cabinet and has wine glass holders it looks pretty sharp.

Probably the second option. I agree with just wine bottles not looking too great but with glasses it makes it better.
These will probably sitnon a counter or a small area of a wall.
