WTF can I do besides have my head on a swivel

Wow, sounds like the stress level at my job of late. They're doing all kinds of stuff to get a huge contract rolling, as well as meet a high tech demand (guess who's on both of these ultra-high profile projects? ) and it's causing frustration.
We're not allowed to carry gun nor knife. But, I carry a Gerber Mini Fast Draw, which is a spring assisted opener. More versatile than a tanto, IMO. The downside to a tanto is that it's a slasher, not meant for piercing. Also, the tanto blade is meant for a different style of cut/attack than most people know how to utilize, so it may not be as effective.

Get a small 1-2" mirror and stick it on the monitor top corner. Not highly effective. But, also it is a bit more discreet.
Depending upon the configuration of his computer, rearranging might be easier. At another company, all I had was a laptop and set it up so I always faced out. This company, can't do it because of other equipment. though, I am considering dropping down to just the laptop as I don't like my current configuration.
The bad part about where I sit: I'm second cube from the elevators and stairs, directly across from the mail and printer rooms, along with the stairwell and bathroom. Super high traffic area.

Some companies do sweeps and inspections and might get seen. Or, if the tape comes undone and falls when he's away, guess who gets into trouble if they're not allowed?

true.... but the 3m used for auto mobile applications arent going to drop off, just may be more difficult to pull off when needed...lol
as to where you sit, it may be a high traffic area, but you are more likely to be passed before someone pulls a gun unless they step out of the elevator and start spraying....

2 right turns to get to me. What kind of blade do you suggest, a drop point?

Ruger LCP in your front pocket. No metal detectors, right?
Wife keeps a big bottle of the cold steel 5g inferno spray out on her desk.

It's a state contract so no carry at all(fvckin sucks). Class A misdemeanor or basically a felony here in Texas, loss of conceal carry rights

Sometimes, just not worth it. There's arguments both ways about keeping job vs potentially staying alive. But, it's up to the individual to make the decision about which risk is better for them.
I'm not too worried about where I sit for someone stepping off. They'd hang a right and just keep going to the exec's office. I just don't like where I sit because I can't seem to get more than three hours of work done due to all the friggin' driveby's. Now, I'm lucky to get one or two because I'm in meetings six hours a day.

I prefer a drop point. Something with a single edge, non serrated so you can press a finger/thumb against the top if need be. Easier to keep sharp and I've found that I just don't use serrations like I thought I would. I only have two knives now with them. One folder and one straight edge.

I haven't looked into it here. We're falling under all kinds of new rules, and who knows what's going on. I don't carry anymore so haven't really followed it lately.
