I worked out of Riverside for about 6 months. Not going to lie, hated it. If you can afford to live in the OC, that's where I'd go.

I'm assuming you're going to seek out employment in an area similar to what you do in the Navy? ....or have you already gotten an opportunity and you just need to find a place to live?
BTW, what was your field in the Navy?

Well, AMCOM is located right here at Redstone Arsenal, and there are several contractor companies here that support Blackhawk, Apache, etc. About a year ago, I was sitting at a lunch with a manager from WestWind Technologies and he said they were ALWAYS looking for qualified knowledgeable people; that they can't fill all the positions they have. There's several other companies around that do the same kind of stuff and I'm sure they all have the same problem.

There are plenty of aviation companies down in the southeast, both commercial and Private. I know for a fact that Gulfstream is hiring in Savannah, Ga, plus its a stones through away from NAS JAX and NAS Kings Bay.

Not a prob, If you know anyone in Commercial Aviation, that could help you out hit them up. I know Delta has promised to hire X amount of people from the military, to fill open positions.

I applied to delta already and no word back even one position that didn't require A&P. I was qualified as per the requirement only to receive a email saying i wasn't .

You need to check out this link too -
http://www.cpol.army.mil/
There is also a large facility down here in Texas in Corpus Christi - Corpus Christi Army Depot which does a ton of rotary wing work for all services.
Also, check out the various AVCRADs throughout the US. They are also MILSPEC(primarily Army) rotary wing facilities.
And L3 Communications does a lot of fixed wing work in Waco, Texas and Dallas, IIRC.
There are a ton of opportunities out there if you wanna stay on the gov't side. Good luck!
