Question for the outback blokes
Is fosters good beer? I don't drink beer really, so I was curious if it was like hillbilly cheap beer or the good stuff

You have no idea what Blatz is?  :
Blatz is bottom of the barrel. It's worse than Old Swil, Schlitz, etc.

I quit drinking 2 years ago. However when I drank it was beer and plenty of it a day. Never developed a beer gut. key is to stay active

Fosters is crap, the only people that drink it are the tourists.
Keep in mind the Fosters you get in the US isn't like what we have here.
You guys get what is sold here as "Crown Lager".
The best IMO is "Victoria Bitter" or "VB", it's just been returned to it's original formular in the last month.
I'm not a big beer drinker, I like my home made Bourbon too much. 
And as for XXXX, it's a Queensland brew, and the only reason it's called XXXX is they weren't allowed to print SH*T on the label.
