I never have liked the guy but find a pic of him going through HIS corner at PI. That would be the one to paint.

That's one of the shots that I really would have loved to get, but unfortunately a trip to The Island just wasn't in the cards this year

I might very well hit you up for that third picture you posted once/if I get to doing the Stoner painting. Thank you very much for offering regardless and very nice pictures
What are you shooting with? And KMac same question for you? More just out of curiousity as I love camera gear
---------------------
Last night I finished the painting after I posted the update
This morning I got up
Set the camera up with my best lens
Set the tripod up
Set the flashes up
Did some shots
Made some setting adjustments
Took some more shots
Put it on the computer
Cropped it and made sure it came out good.
Then I saved it and right before posting it I looked at it and decided I hated the grass and the bump of the light gray strip in the background...so I spent the whole morning repainting the grass (I think it now has 7 or 8 layers to it) and taking out the hump....then went back through and did the photo of it.
Regardless....
Here is the final product! I'm fairly happy with it

I'm sure you know but there is a decent market for this sort of thing. Pictures such as yours with X rider's autograph can yield a decent sum.
Very nice work dude.

Unfortunately I'm broke and live in PA so the chances of me meeting Rossi to get him to sign this are about 1 in a billion. Would be nice though but at that point it'd be a keeper for me.

Yeah, I don't think the Jamaica painting is going to be exciting to follow like this was! Next bike picture though I'll be sure to put a thread up and keep you guys updated. I think its awesome this thread hit 4,000+ views! I appreciate all the comments

That is sweet! You've got talent, I'm pretty sure you could sell your work.

Those were shot with a Canon 7D and 300mm F4 + 1.4x teleconverter from the general admission area at Indy.
You're welcome to use any of the shots you want - you've got some really great talant, and that Rossi painting came out really well.

Nice! 7D here also but nothing that goes up to 300 unfortunately!
I appreciate the picture usage and compliments

Canon 40D and Canon EF 400 f/2.8, some are also with a Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 w/1.6x extender. Rented the 400 lens in 2011 (when I took the Rossi wheelie pic) and it was worth every penny. Less than $200 for 3 days of shooting with a $10,000+ lens is money well spent.

BTW, here's a Simoncelli wheelie pic from the same spot I got Rossi. If you're really into doing GP paintings and selling them, I'd make sure I added a Simo painting to the list (not this one, but a really good racing shot).

Here's a couple of Stoner, but I also think a pic of him drifting thru T3 at Phillip Island is "the shot" to paint. If you can't find one, then I vote for Hailwood's second photo......it practically looks like a painting already and is incredibly clear and glare-free.

Will do! Once I finish this Jamaica picture I'll be back onto another motorcycle one as long as nothing else comes up! The list of ones I want to do bike related is expanding quicker then I can get them done
