I understand the concern, and worry of it happening again from/to someone else. But, many of these types of things can be prevented.

Very true, I didn't know the guy. But still good to have protection just in case.

Whew, still processing brass. Looks like I got 4k 45acp, 250 300 blackout, 5k 9mm, 1k 40sw, 25k 223/5.56. Gonna be a busy winter, and I need another bench so I can leave the presses set up all the time.

I've got about the same amounts for my pistol calibers (.357sig/.40) but that 5.56 round count is awfully impressive!

I told you that HK was no good now box it up and send it to me pm to follow with my location . What 1911 did your buddy have? I used to shoot my friends Colt 1911 a lot before he passed away and i use to love that 1911. The thing was a tak driver with one sweet ass trigger.

How long will that take you to load that 223/5.56?

I dunno, I do it in my spare time 1k at a time. Once I load the primer tubes it takes about an hour and a half to load 1k. About the same for the pistol rounds and the 300 blackout. 9mm takes a little longer due to the brass being short and I get a bunch of flipped cases in the auto case feeder, about one every thirty or forty. Gotta manually flip it and continue.

Do you know off hand what its costing you per round to reload the 223/556 and the .45? How many times can you reload the same brass say like winchester white box .45 and federal xm193 5.56?

I'm about 5-6k deep in reloading equipment. I bought most used or got it for free, but that would be the price of admission if you are trying to make a start at big numbers reloading.

All depends on the firearm and the loading. I can reload 9mm for about 160 a thou, 223 for 2o0 a thou, 45 for 200 a thou.
Brass run through a subgun, glock or older autoloader like an M1a or mini 14 style action will fail sooner than in a bolt action or revolver with the same load. I generally run 45acp til it splits. I've gotten as many as 12 loadings on win brass.

Not big numbers but if I could find a decent starter kit with everything for .223 /5.56 for now and buy different dies later . probably something I could knockout 500 to 1000 over a weekend or week in the free time. I would probably strike a deal with my brother and good friend where I would buy the setup and they buy the first couple thousand rounds of components .

The RCBS rockchucker supreme master reloading kit is pretty good. You only need a couple more items to get all set up for loading. It's what I started with.

Just need to find a deal on one. I noticed somebody had the hornady kit for 300 awhile back but can't find it again.
Basically I'll just stay with that one caliber for a good while until I feel comfortable before moving non to others.
What would be the other couple items you mentioned?

Dies, base and different case lube. Hornaday one shot is my current favorite.
If you're reloading mil spec brass, you will need a primer pocket crimp remover.

HiTech ammo has the best prices for Powder, primers and pills. Brassmanbrass has been good to me in the past for brass. MidwayUSA is where I buy most of my pistol bullets and equipment. I know Kirk gets daily shipments from Midway too.

Once you fire your brass a couple times you will need to buy a trimmer, they are about 100 bucks.
