Not sure if you get them in the States though?

Yes they sell them here but most riders don't use luggage or backpacks here.

I ride my bike to work when its warm out...50 miles each way. I get to work super early when riding the bike, which is one reason I like to ride it. I use my north face backpack to carry my laptop, lunch and junk.

I've never worn a backpack for the simple reason of I don't think it would be fun to have that attached to me while rolling in the event of a crash

I use a Nike back pack considering the ride to work is 12km each way. Consists of bike cover, laptop and lunch. All fits snug.

I think my next backpack will be a Kriega. I bought an Ogio a few months ago, and it's already falling apart.

Yeah I was figuring...depending on what you have in your bag, it would serve as cushion in the event of a crash.

I commute to work on my bike unless its in the 30's or lower....I have an Incase backpack for my work laptop and keep a pair of shoes to change into once i get to work. It seems like when I ride versus driving; my day just goes better.

I ride to work just about every day. I wear oakley boots (I know, not the norm, but mine have a rubber piece where my toe meets the shifter), icon or oakley gloves, a bell star helmet, scorpion xdr jacket and I take a backpack to college; oakleys "kitchen sink" bag. It works out pretty good. Actually fairly comfortable, and the back doesn't hit the back seat or anything. I did need to fold up the straps though, as they flap around at anything over like 2 mph and tap the back of my helmet lol...

I ride to class every day, rain or shine. I've got a small pack from cheaper than dirt that I use. Assault pack 3 i think is what its called. Fits all my notebooks, laptop and exercise clothes. I like that its small and compact so I don't feel like it gets in the way even on more spirited rides.

Also ride with a Lowepro camera bag, even taken it out for a lap or two of the Nurburgring (mind I ride even more like a big girl with a few grand worth of camera bits strapped top my back)

I used to commute to work and school with a Janpack (a basic model). That backpack finally started to get holes in it so I upgraded to some Kriega products. I currently have the the R25 backpack and the US30 drypack which goes on the back seat. Best luggage solution I have found so far and I have 55 liters of storage space.
