Ego or GoPro?
Been looking into getting a camera for riding for awhile but its been a good month for computer work so I figured its time to get one. Most likely a helmet mount. Not for stunts or speed or anything like that just for riding, got 40k miles under my belt and it just seems like drivers are getting worse so I just want to video it. Looked at the new action shot and liked the price and size but decided against it. So basically just looking at the gopro or ego. Like the wifi option of the ego. But I want to hear from people that actually own either or and thoughts about which one.

Search the forum, there is a big thread already open for this question.(I would find it for you, but I'm just too lazy)
From recent opinions, the GoPro is said to have better sound quality, but cost more. That's kind of the short version of it. I personally have a GoPro Hero2, and if you decide to get a GoPro, make sure you get the Hero2! But I have been really satisfied with it. I like all of the attachments, and accessories for it, and the quality is amazing.
But that's an opinion, to each their own.

Sony has just entered this market with the "Sony Action Cam" I don't have much hands on experience with it but its another option and would Velcro to the side of a helmet nicely.

Sony's downside is their proprietary memory cards.

Screw both brands. Get an Oregon Scientific ATC9K...and be surprised how good it is and for the price you can't beat it. Just hasn't made it main stream yet.

I'd still get the Ego over what I'm reading about that camera
I have a GoPro Hero2 and love it. I wouldn't mind picking another one up for cheap, but am interested in the Ego for a 2nd cam.

Well, between that two I think it is better for you to go with Go Pro because it is also a good brand of camera especially for action or sport shots.

ego just released their suction mounts.
I've been using the ego and love it. Kinda nice to see someone come out with a camera/video recorder that you don't pay smart phone prices for.

I ended up getting the Hero 2 motorsports edition. Didn't see the point in saving $45 with the ego, decided I've been screwed over before by going with the smaller brand that everyone had good things to say about so stayed with the big name. No regrets what so ever, like the go pro a lot.

Lol no prob not. Took me over a year to justify buying a camera. Sure the wifi would be nice but its not worth the extra money and the hero 2 has better recording quality than the cheapest hero 3.
